10 Free Things You Can Get on Your Birthday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgetown chapter.

College can be expensive, with tuition, food, going out and everything in between. So, getting anything free is worth it, especially when it’s your birthday. Many companies offer discounts to celebrate your birthday while some companies offer completely free items. The downside is that you will likely have to sign up for an account and receive emails. But that’s what that junk mail folder is for.

If you want to save some money on your special day, here are some of the best birthday freebies to check out. Remember to sign up a few weeks to a month before your birthday to make sure that you receive the reward.

Moe’s Southwest Grill: Download the Moe Rewards app and sign up to get a free burrito on your birthday. The offer expires seven days from your birthday and is valid only at participating locations. You also get free nachos with the purchase of a drink when you join.

Sprinkles: Sign up for Sprinkles Perks to receive a free cupcake on your birthday. You must redeem the reward by the end of the month.

Sephora: If you haven’t already, sign up to be a Sephora Beauty Insider to receive a free gift on your birthday. You have the month to choose your gift out of two or three options in store or online at checkout.

Panera: Join the MyPanera rewards program to receive a free pastry on your birthday. You have seven days to redeem this reward.

Krispy Kreme: Sign up for Krispy Kreme Rewards for a free doughnut of your choice and a hot or iced coffee. You must redeem the reward within the month.

Starbucks: If you sign up for Starbucks Rewards at least 30 days before your birthday, you’ll get a free beverage. The reward expires one day after your birthday.

Baskin-Robbins: Sign up to be a Birthday Club member to receive a free kid’s scoop or 3-ounce swirl of soft serve. The coupon expires within 10 days of receiving the reward.

Jamba Juice: Subscribe to the Jamba Juice insider’s list for a free juice or smoothie on your birthday. The offer expires 30 days from the original send date.

Sbarro: Join Sbarro’s Slice Society for a free slice of pizza on your birthday. The reward expires two weeks from the original send date.

Dunkin Donuts: Sign up for the DD Perks program to receive a free beverage on your birthday. You will also receive a free beverage just for signing up. The reward expires seven days from the date issued.

There are plenty of other companies that also offer birthday rewards. To find the best free things and discounts for you, check out your favorite stores and restaurants to see if they have a rewards program. And if you haven’t already, you should also check out discounts for restaurants, stores, and activities that you can get with your student ID card. However, these will only last while you’re in school. Birthday rewards, on the other hand, will keep coming year after year.
