Need help decorating your dorm room?  There are plenty of creative ways to make your room the one that everyone talks about!

1. Go to Papyrus.  Papyrus gives Georgetown students a great way to decorate their rooms.  Just head to Wisconsin and N Street to pick up gorgeous patterned paper. You can mount pictures or just put the paper up itself!

2. Missed the 10-dollar poster sale at Leavey?  Go to allposters.com and get access to thousands of posters.  From movies to music bands, you will definitely find what you are looking for on this website.

3. Pictures, pictures, pictures!  Next time on your way to Wisconsin and O Street stop at CVS and print some of your favorite pictures to put on your desk, walls, and maybe even buy some frames while you’re at it.

4. Get ready for the holidays! It’s all about festivities, and what’s a holiday without lights?  Get to a local arts and crafts store and buy lights for your dorm so when the holidays roll around your room will be the most festive!

5. Need a cheap but creative way to hang up pictures?  Grab some tape, string and clothespins.  All you need to do next is tape the string to the wall and clip on some pictures.  This definitely adds to the room and is relatively inexpensive.

6. Ever thought duct tape could be fun and decorative?  Well by using colorful and patterned duck tape, from Staples or other convenient stores, you can tape up pictures, posters, or anything that interests you. It will definitely add some much needed color to your room!

7. CB2 Georgetown has stylized accessories right on M Street. Instead of your typical desk accessories, get more stylish ones with patterns and colors.  And on your way back, pick up some Georgetown Cupcakes!

8. Make your room colorful. Get more colorful storage boxes for under your bed so your room is more vibrant and upbeat.

9. Get a lamp for the room. Split it with your roommate and trust me you won’t regret this purchase.  It will add some much needed light and décor to your dorm!

10. Finally, as Georgetown students we are proud to be Hoyas, so get going to the bookstore and buy Georgetown posters, apparel, or a flag, so even your room will bleed blue and gray!

So get started! Before the work starts piling up, make your room more creative and not so drab!  Most of these items can be found at the nearby Target, CVS, or CB2 right in Georgetown.  Sure, it requires some work, but I promise you won’t be disappointed with the results.  Not only will you want to be in your room more, but you’ll sure be getting more compliments.  You’ll have one of the best-decorated dorm rooms on campus! These ideas still not enough?  Check Google, or even better, get a Pinterest and follow some dorm decorating pages!
