Age: 20

Major: Tourism and Events Management

Looking for someone to keep your day bright with her contagious and beautiful smile? Well Meredith is your girl! Meredith Hill is a fun loving, positive girl who never seems to let life’s obstacles ruin her day.

Meredith has enjoyed being at Mason these past few years by joining Greek life, making life long friendships, and traveling the world to expand her knowledge for her future career.

I had the pleasure of digging a little deeper into Meredith’s life to help you guys get to know this amazing girl a bit more.

Who’s your biggest role model? My biggest role model would definitely be my mom. She has always been my best friend, and since I’m an only child it seems to make our relationship even stronger. We got matching tattoos last summer to symbolize that special bond between us. She is my person and always will be!

What associations/groups are you affiliated with at GMU? I am affiliated with Alpha Phi, one of the seven sororities on GMU’s campus.

Why did you choose the Greek life? I chose Greek life because I knew it would be a great way to take a step out of my comfort zone and find a home where I belong. Since I decided to go to college 5 minutes away from home, I knew that I needed to live on campus to meet more people and get the true college experience. When I went through formal recruitment, I knew right away that I had found my home in Alpha Phi. They were all so kind and welcoming, and soon they became my home away from home. My sisters inspire me to grow as an individual each and every day, and I definitely wouldn’t be surviving college without them!

What are your plans for your future? My plan for the future is to get my Masters in Events Management and find my dream job in the Events Management field. I would love to reward myself by traveling the world with a family of my own, and exploring all the parts of the Earth that are on my bucket list. I am lucky to have seen so many places at the age of 20, but the list still goes on. I’m all about living life to the fullest, and can’t wait to make my way across the map!

What’s your dream job? My dream job is to be a wedding planner! I have an internship this summer with Atrendy Wedding, where I will be assisting with weddings all summer as well as helping with their wedding projects and social media. I started off that internship earlier than expected this spring when I traveled with them to Venice, Italy to work on a photo shoot.

What’s your favorite memory at mason? My favorite memory at Mason would have to be meeting my freshman year roommate, who I knew would be my best friend the day that I met her. Our relationship has gotten nothing but stronger since the first day we met, and our bond became even more special when we became sorority sisters. If anyone knows us, they know that we do absolutely everything together, whether it’s traveling, going to Corner Bakery, or making a Starbucks run in the middle of the night. Everyone deserves to have a best friend like Kendall!

Tell us a bit about your trip to Italy? My trip to Italy was undoubtedly the experience of a lifetime! Two of the wedding planners, two professional photographers, a DC florist, and I traveled to Venice to take on a photo shoot. This photo shoot was not for a real wedding, but we were setting up as if it were a real wedding. The pictures taken will be posted on their blogs, social media, and website. More importantly, they will be submitted to well-known magazines, such as Italian Vogue and The Knot. On the first day of the photo shoot, we spent all day at the nicest and most luxurious hotel in Venice, setting up a dinner table and the ceremony, as well as the cake. This was the “still shots day”, and the next day was the “models day”. On this day, we spent the entire day boating around Venice with a fake bride and groom, who happened to be two Italian models. We would get off at the most beautiful stops (although there isn’t a spot in Venice that isn’t beautiful) and take pictures of the “couple”. Other than the work aspect of this trip, I spent my time eating loads and loads of pasta, pizza, and gelato, taking tours through the mountains, and watching the sunset on a gondola ride. Venice was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen, and I’m so lucky to have had this experience for my first internship!

Meredith is always walking around campus with a big smile on her face. She has some great things planned for her future and has high hopes to be very successful in pursuing her goals and dreams.

Take a page out of Meredith’s book and smile through this last week of finals!

Good luck Collegiates!
