With finals coming to an end and summer creeping in, it’s finally time to relax– but not just yet! Mother’s day is Sunday, May 10th this year and although we are still in quarantine, we still gotta celebrate our mamas! But, like said, we are in quarantine… So how can we do that exactly without going out and breaking self-isolation? Here are some cute, thoughtful ideas to help ya out (thank me later).

1. Baked goods

Mother’s day is supposed to be the day we shower our moms with love to show them just how much we appreciate them, so why not do so by showing her just how sweet she is? Whether it is by baking something homemade or ordering something to be sent to her, sweets speak right to the heart and stomach. Think about what your mom likes, not what you’d like for her to try and make it happen! Great online sweets suppliers are Baked by Melissa, Milk Bar, and Harry and David. Today’s her day, don’t be conservative with the cals, they don’t count today.

2. Heartfelt letter

If your mom has a love language word of affirmation, this is the gift to give to your mom. Cards last a lifetime, so take some time to put your gratitude for your mom into words. And keep in mind, the more details, the more tears. Get creative, though! You can make your own card and decorate it, make a scrapbook-style momentum, or even buy a card that resembles your mom to you! The much popular Boomf card is also a great, wacky present to get mom if she likes humorous cards as well!

3. About you basket

Let’s face it, your mom deserves some TLC. Everyday 24/7 your mom is constantly looking out for everyone else and today is our day to make up for it. Going to your local beauty supplier or supermarket and picking up some easy self-care items makes for the perfect basket stuffers in an ‘about you basket’. In this, you just simply fill a basket with anything and everything you mom loves, snacks, makeup, perfume, skincare, haircare, things to support her side hobbies/passions, maybe throw a mug in there, go crazy!

4. Her favorite wine/cocktail

It may be quarantine but happy hour is still on, ladies and today it’s the whole day. As we know, it’s no party without a good sangria or margarita so let your inner DIY queen out and become the bartender of your mom’s dreams. You can even give your creative twist to the idea and make a cocktail in the honor of your mom and you never know, maybe you’ll come out with a new drink of choice!

5. Flowers

Last but not least, flowers are always the way to go. Even if you get anything else for your mom, flowers will make her feel truly cherished. Just like you want flowers on valentine’s day, flowers show a different level of appreciation to the person you love in such a unique way. The versatility flowers have to personalize makes your gift feel like it was made just for them. So pick flowers significant and representative of your mom because I assure you, she will notice.

Times may be hectic and crazy but one thing is sure and that is a mother’s love. Make her feel that love today too, collegiettes.
