Maybe it’s just the Virgo in me, but every time I create a new google or word document, I find myself immediately changing the font. Upon further reflection, I feel like it’s safe to say that your go-to font is a pretty good indicator of who you are at your core. Interested in what your default font says about you? Keep reading!

Times New Roman

If your go-to font is Times New Roman, you’re not one to stray from the path. You may have a hard time with change, but once you’ve been acclimated, you’re eager to embrace it. You love classic English literature and may even have a collection at home. You never turn down the chance for a good (vegan) burger, another American classic.

Arial

If you use Arial, you scare me LOL. You simply cannot be bothered to change things for the purpose of aesthetic, you have other things on your mind. You’re the type of person to get colored money pieces in your hair, and quite honestly you rock it. You’re definitely a chicken tender queen, and you tend to live your life by the phrase, “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Comic Sans

If you use Comic Sans ironically, I love you. If you use Comic Sans unironically… honey what are you doing? You’re the type of person who doesn’t live their life based on how others think you should, and you’re usually one of the funniest people in the room. OR you’re an elementary teacher, but my two future roommates are elementary ed majors and they deserve the WORLD.

Courier New

If you use Courier New I’m willing to put money on the fact that you’re a communication major. You had a Tumblr account in 2014 and you still log in to reminisce about the good times. You have a very strong opinion of Lana Del Rey–you either love her or hate her, there is no in-between. You have the best taste in television/cinema, and you never turn down an opportunity to watch “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Georgia

If you use Georgia, you have great taste in fonts. Like, it’s impeccable. You also have an uber-organized Google Drive, all of which is purposefully color-coded. You probably loved One Direction whilst they were making music, and if you were lucky enough, you saw a show with all five members. You’re the mom of your friend group and tend to get along well with everyone.

Caveat

If you use Caveat, you must have 20/20 vision because honestly, I am STRUGGLING right now. You like this font because it’s the closest to resembling your handwriting, which is phenomenal by the way. You really have your life together, or you’re an expert at leaving that impression on others. You listen to Clairo and Phoebe Bridges in your spare time, and you still have every book that you’ve ever owned.

Lobster

If you use Lobster, you’re either fancy as hell, a middle schooler, or a suburban mom. There is no in-between. You drink your mimosas with heavy champagne, light orange juice. In the summertime, you tend to wear big floppy hats and you love a wedge sandal. When you watched Schitt’s Creek, your favorite character was Alexis.

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed this light-hearted article! As someone who loves fonts, hopefully you had as much fun reading this article as I did writing it!

Julia is a senior Communication Major at Geneseo! She loves to write and is so elated that Her Campus lets her do just that. Julia will forever mourn the loss of her favorite band, One Direction.
