Because everything is starting to open up again, everyone’s hoping for more opportunities to get out there. Let’s hear what our writers are looking forward to!

Nina Fichera

I’m looking forward to actually talking to people, haha. Now that I have in-person classes and everything is relatively open, I’m sure I’ll make a bunch of new friends! Or at least talk more than I did last year, though that’s not really a hard thing to do.

Lily Connerton

The past year and a half has certainly been long and exhausting for most people. As more individuals get vaccinated and the country begins a return to normalcy, I am looking forward to unwinding and enjoying more fun activities like concerts, social gatherings and festivals again, all of the things that the pandemic made impossible!

Lucy Laats

I’m looking forward to meeting people! Last year I was mostly online, so I didn’t get a chance to make many friends. Now that we’re in person, I hope to meet people and make those connections I missed out on last year!

Lauren Mccormick

I’m looking forward to trying new things and learning more about myself as a person. College is meant to be a time of self discovery and I’m looking forward to devoting my time to that.

Briana Guardado

It’s my freshman year at Geneseo, so I’m really looking forward to all that this new experience has to offer! Being so isolated last year, it’s so refreshing to be in a brand new environment where I can explore so many different, new opportunities and meet so many new people.

Jess Marinaro

This year I am really excited to be coming back to a Geneseo that is more alive than it was last year, and to hopefully make some more friends! I may be a sophomore, but in truth I feel like a first year student. For myself, I feel like the pandemic (although extremely difficult) allowed me to do some deep self reflection so I am also really looking forward to navigating the college environment with a newfound confidence and perspective.

Sarah Bhasin

As a freshman in Geneseo, I am mainly looking forward to meeting all different types of new people, whether they be in the dining halls, classes or my dorm. I have already met so many unique and interesting people so far! On the personal side, I am also excited to discover myself and my passions. While I am a declared communication major, I don’t exactly know what I want to do in the future. I am hoping my first year at Geneseo allows me to get to know myself better!

Olivia de stio

I am excited to talk to new people from my classes and clubs. During the pandemic and online school I was able to do a lot of self reflecting and work on my mental health, so I am excited to meet new people and be able to travel more again.

Madison centeno

I am really looking forward to experiencing in person classes at college. Although I have been here for a year already I never got the chance to engage with people in a college setting in the traditional way. Not to mention, I also get to go to a ton of events and meet new people. This may be weird, but even meeting my professors has been so fun thus far.

Dara Scolnick

I really am excited for this year: my senior year! I’m really looking forward to being back in person! Being able to meet new people is always great and I also can’t wait to travel again. I’m also planning on doing an internship and am very excited for that and my future!
