what to watch when you’re Feeling Blue

1. Disney Food Blog

Listen, I love Disney so much; I went there for my 16th birthday and have been back and forth many times before. I love Universal more, but its YouTube channel game is so weak in comparison. DFB is the ultimate comfort channel: AJ has literally the best voice to narrate it and she makes me learn a little something more about the happiest place on Earth. When I’m in the midst of a homework, family or school-induced sob fest, I listen to AJ tell me about all the awesome snacks and restaurants and start planning my dream Disney trip, which is just an awesome distraction. I can literally not say enough about how much I love it.

2. Tom Daley

As a Brit, I’ve known who Tom Daley is for a very long time, but I did not discover his channel until 2020. Tom is seemingly the sweetest human being alive and his relationship with his husband Lance is just what I want for my life. Also, Lance’s jokes are absolutely hilarious he never fails to make me laugh with his jokes and innuendos. following someone’s Olympic journey is also one of the most interesting things I have ever gotten to do without ever leaving the comfort of my bed. Whenever I’m feeling a bit lonely, Tom feels like a welcomed friend, and watching him do whatever he’s doing that week is always a welcome reprieve from daily life.

3. Mina Rome

Ok, in case you couldn’t tell, I LOVE cooking channels and food videos, and Mina Rome’s fully vegan cooking channel just makes me so happy. It’s nice to learn recipes that I could actually eat, and watching her recreate foods from my favorite shows and movies like Percy Jackson, Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter is something I watch again again and again (I kid you not I have watched that exact video 30 times). She also makes me want to go to Germany to try all the amazing vegan food in her food reviews for myself. Quick side note: every single recipe I’ve tried is absolutely fantastic and also really comforting, she has a whole video on stuff that is easy for college students which is extremely helpful when you don’t really have a lot of time or a ton of kitchen space.
