8 Artists That I am Imploring (No, Begging) to Produce More Music in 2021

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Geneseo chapter.

2020 super sucked! I am not holding any artists accountable for not producing music during that hellhole of a year. However, as we shift forward, I think we need to start thinking about giving the people what they want (and what they have been lacking for far too long).

Mitski

My love, I know you are taking a break. I know you are tired, and that the world has asked too much of you. But please. I will do anything.

Sidney Gish

No Dogs Allowed went too hard for you to just end there. Plus, we’ve all just gotten a teaser from the Audiotree album. There is so much angst and melancholy wrapped up in the past year that can only be released through hurtling down the highway screaming the words to a new album.

Dr. Dog

I simply do not understand what is keeping you away from us. Do you understand the value that you bring to this world? Do you need a reminder? What can we do to bring you home?

Lorde

Where are you, bae?

Moses Sumney

Am I aware that græ was released less than a year ago? Yes, absolutely. Do I need more of the degree of self-realization, multiplicity, development and ethereal understanding that is presented in græ to be, more-or-less, injected into my bloodstream as soon as is physically possible? Yes, absolutely.

St. Vincent

MASSEDUCTION has been one of the few reliable tools that I have had at my disposal to putter aimlessly through my freshman year of college. A new album will be required in order for me to advance through time and space.

Rico Nasty

Yes, it has been a year. But can the world really ever have enough Rico?

Lucy Dacus

I won’t lie to you, bestie. It kinda feels like you’re teasing us. We appreciate the singles and the E.P., but if we’re entering into the second year of a pandemic, I think we’re going to need a new Historian. Also, can you please do something about boygenius? This is also a necessity.

I know times are tough, and I know that producing music during these tough times is tougher. But I’m really … I’m really begging. Please. On behalf of myself and the rest of the indie community, please.
