Waiting For Summer: As Told by “Boy Meets World”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GCU chapter.

20 days, that’s it. That is all that is left before the freedom of summer. 20 more days to turn in assignments, try not to fail exams, and to keep it together. With only a few more weeks left the delusion caused by stress is real. The phenomenal television show “Boy Meets World” and its daughter show “Girl Meets World,” couldn’t sum up my feelings of this point in the summer better.

When someone asks “How’s school?”

Trying to keep myself together like…

When a professor gives you an extra assignment of reading…

When you compare homework loads with friends…

The pep talk I tell myself before each essay…

What an average grade really means…

Free food…

When you are on your last dining dollars…

When the professor doesn’t show up to class…

You’re broke, working, homeworking, and exhausted contantly…

Preparing for life after college…

Trying to decide a career path anyway possible…

A friend asks to hang out, but all you want to do is sleep…

A professor saying it would be an easy assignment…

Professors keeping you in class until the exact time…

Getting a good grade on an assignment you forgot all about…

Summer coming, college campus getting smaller…

7 assignments in one week…

One full day without having to do homework…

There are only 20 more days – you’ve got this!!

Hailing from the wondrous land of Colorado, I grew up with the aspiration of being a great Veterinarian. Senior year of high school I realized being a Vet would mean 12 more years of school. Currently I'm a senior at GCU and will be graduating with my Communication degree. The goal is to be a journalist who travels around the world writing articles, the reality surrounding me now is different, but full of surprises. Random adventures, the gym, anything outdoors, Netflix, coloring books, friends, family, and glorifying God are what gets me up in the morning.
