Every college student knows there is nothing better than having a productive day at a local coffee shop. For some reason, homework always seems to get done faster, the Instagram pictures taken are cuter, and the conversations had with friends are always sweeter. Luckily for GCU students, Phoenix Is known to have an impressive coffee culture. Whether you are going to do some hardcore studying or going out with the cute boy in your psychology class, here are 5 coffee shops perfect for any occasion.

1. Lux Central 

Located just off of Central and Camelback, Lux Central is the GCU hotspot of coffee shops. If you thrive off of a busy environment and hip atmosphere, this is the perfect place to get some homework done. It is perfect for a low pressure first date or to catch up with a friend. Be sure to come hungry because the mac and cheese is amazing and it comes in a mug. What is more hipster than that? Their salted chocolate chip cookie is also a must have. Your life will be blessed after eating something so delicious!

2. Teaspressa 

Teaspressa is THE SPOT for Instagram pictures. This is the place to go if you’re looking to add some cute pictures to your feed or you are planning a girl’s day. The company was started by a boss babe from Phoenix that debuted her product on Shark Tank. The company’s main product is their tea lattes that are made with concentrated tea shots. If you are more of a coffee drinker all their drinks can be made using Provision Coffee espresso. Best of all they do not charge extra for alternative milks! Their first location is located in Arcadia, but they just added a downtown location that is about 15 minutes from GCU’s campus. Both locations offer the perfect photo opportunities, but for studying the downtown locations offers more seating.

3. First Place Coffee 

First Place offers specialty coffee on wheels! They post their coffee truck schedule weekly and can be found in various places in the Phoenix area. This is perfect to go with a friend or alone on the way to work in the morning. The staff is always friendly, and their coffee is some of the best in the valley. If you are there on a good day you can snatch one of their dinosaur shaped pastries; they source from a local bakery. First Place always offers a great coffee experience and people usually come with their cute dogs.

4. Provision Coffee 

Located in Arcadia, Provision is the perfect location to get some homework done while sipping on quality coffee. The clean structure allows a perfect environment to focus and get stuff done. If you’re looking to bring a friend to a coffee shop that shows Phoenix’s coffee culture this is it!

5. The Grand

Located on Grand street in downtown Phoenix, The Grand serves coffee, food, and has a full-service bar. The Grand replicates an old Victorian train station and has a mission to help humans connect in a world run by technology. The best part of all is that they are open 24/7. They are fulfilling every college kid’s dream! This place is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to connect with friends over a cup of coffee or taking a study break at any time of night.
