Not everyone is given the chance to say that they have a wonderful earthly father. I know so many people with broken families who either live without their dads or hardly talk to them. Some don’t even have a relationship with their fathers at all. I know that I’m incredibly blessed to say that I not only have a wonderful Heavenly Father, but an incredible earthly father as well. I’m so thankful, and I don’t take any of it for granted.

Dad, thank you for teaching me everything I know. Thanks for teaching me to be strong. Thank you for teaching me to always choose to do the right things, not the easy things. You taught me to go out beyond my fullest potential. Ever since I was little, you would look at me and say, “I want you to do hard things.” You taught me to be tough.

Ever since I was little, you have been the one person I have been able to go to for anything. Whenever I’ve been hurt by a friend, or especially a boy, I will come to you because you always seem to know what to say. Not only are you the one person I can tell pretty much anything to, but you never judge. Instead of criticizing me when I do wrong, you encourage me to be better, and do better, next time. You encourage me to look up to God for my worth, and for the answers in life.

One thing I can say that has stuck out about you is that you have never left. Guys I date, friends I have, people I come into contact with…so many of them leave. They are in my life for a specific amount of time and then they leave, sometimes out of nowhere, leaving me feel so alone. But you, Dad, have never left. You have always been there whenever I have needed you, and you are always there. I can call you at any time of the day, and you will answer. I can text you late at night when I am upset about something, and I know you will answer. Thank you for always being there, and thank you for never leaving.

I pray that I find a man like you someday that I can call mine. I hope my future husband will love my children the way that you have loved my siblings and I, and I pray that he will teach them the way you have taught me. He will have to be some special man in order to be as good as you, but I know he is out there, and I can’t wait to find him.

I am so thankful to call you my Dad. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I’m so blessed that God gave me you. Thank you for always treating me like a princess and for teaching me to be the person I am today. I don’t know what I would have ever done without you.
