It is super important to stay on task and get things done while at college.  But, remember to have fun and let loose! Make sure to take a break from your busy schedule and go out with friends this fall.  You deserve it!

1. Arizona State Fair: October 4- October 27

Thrilling rides, fried food, local vendors, crazy performers, a petting zoo, and more! The state fair is super fun to go with friends and play carnival games, shop, and go on rides.  The tickets for rides can get pretty pricey, but there is plenty more to do. Even if you just want to walk around and take pictures with the carnival lights in the background (that’s what I did last year, I was broke), the entrance fee is only $12. https://azstatefair.com/

2. Fear Farm: September 20- November 2

With mini haunted houses linking back to Arizona urban legends, haunted corn maze, and carnival games; this is a place to check out if you are in for a scare.  General admission, fast passes, and skip the line tickets are all available. Haunted houses are a great way to get into the spooky spirit!

3. 13th Floor: Haunted House: September 28-November 2

13th Floor is another classic Arizona Haunted house to visit if you want to be scared.  It is a big warehouse floor converted into one long haunted house maze, this year’s theme is zombies and traditional monsters, such as werewolves and vampires.  I went a couple of years back with my friends and had lots of fun.

4. AZ Field of Screams: October 4- October 31

A haunted corn maze, supposedly planted over an old cemetery, filled with the walking dead and other creatures of terror.  It also has a pumpkin patch to pick up a great pumpkin for Halloween. The entrance fee is $20.

5. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Need to find the perfect pumpkin to carve or take cute fall pictures for Instagram?  Some great pumpkin patches in Arizona include Schnepf Farms, Tolmachoff Farms, and Vertuccio Farms.  Many of these farms also have activities like games, corn mazes, and petting zoos to check out while there.

6. Go on a hike

Now that the weather is getting cooler, it is the perfect time to go on a hike.  Some great mountains to hike in the Phoenix area are Camelback mountain, South mountain, Echo Canyon, Papago park, and A mountain in Tempe.  Hiking is a great way to work out and spend time with friends. A morning hike is a great day to start the day, especially followed by brunch!

7. Tacotopia: September 27- December 1

If traditional fall activities aren’t for you, don’t worry Arizona has got you covered.  A pop-up event located in the Tempe Marketplace has come to Az. It has taco themed art and interactive experiences to take pictures with.  Tickets are $25 (there is a discount for college students.. yay!). I went with some of my friends and it was super cute. There are many opportunities for Instagram pictures and even a mechanical taco to ride on.

8. Candytopia: October 11- December 29

Another great interactive, photo-worthy event is Candytopia in Scottsdale.  It is like Tacotopia, but with candy. The backgrounds are vibrant and sweet, and I plan on attending this one as well!  Tickets are $28.
