It’s A Colorful Life: Love Your Colors!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GCSU chapter.

Just because Mother Nature decided brown was the hot style of the season doesn’t mean you should avoid colors this wintertime. Here are a few helpful hints to add color to those dreary winter days.

Patterned shirts are a great way to add color to an outfit. Blue jeans can be a little monotonous so adding this flash of color can really help brighten up your outfit.

Scarves are a great way to add color to an outfit and a way to keep yourself warm in the process! You can match colorful jewlery with your scarf for extra color and pop.

Jackets are also a great way to change up a look. Here, you notice I’m wearing a brown jacket, however I’ve added a maroon sweater to give it more color. This ensemble can also be paired with brightly colored jeans to make the brown really pop.

With this outfit, I paired an orange cardigan with the orange in my Elvis shirt to make it really stand out. This can be done with a light sweater, like I’ve done here, or with jewelry or a scarf, or maybe a belt. Just take a color you want to draw attention to and pair it with things that will bring that color out the most.

Make me proud, HerCampus followers! Go bring color into our brown winter!

I'm a senior here at Georgia College. My major is English, with a concentration in creative writing, and a minor in Marketing. I love to write fiction with dabbles in poetry. I'm happily taken with the love of my life and we have an adorable puppy (that's mostly his, but I like to steal him.) Working with HerCampus has allowed me to get to know some wonderful girls and I couldn't be happier with the experience.
