Georgia College has come a long way in 125 years. It first started out as a two-year women’s college in 1889 and has made it’s way to a prestegious public liberal arts four-year university. It has transformed in many ways throughout the years and has become more and more diverse as the years go on.
Georgia College is perhaps one of the most unique campuses in Georgia due to all of the history that it holds. It is the states’ first capitol, past home to the Governer, and many, many historical events that have happened right here on campus. In celebration of the colleges’ big landmark, Georgia College is dedicating a whole week to the history of GCSU. Some events include a scavenger hunt throughout campus, trivia night, a historical reenactment, social media day, a special bobcat madness event, and many more interactive activities.
