Holiday Gifts for Each Enneagram Type

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Furman chapter.

The Holiday season is upon us, and that means it is time for gift giving. Shopping for friends, significant others, and family members can be tricky. So, if you need some help shopping your way through the holidays, look no further. The different enneagram types are here to help you guide your way to the perfect gift.

Type 1: The Reformer

This type of person is rational, purposeful and a major perfectionist. So, while shopping for them think practicality. A cute new planner or desk calendar would resonate well. Anything that can be used consistently is perfect for your perfectionist.

Type 2: The Helper

The Type 2 is in short, a people pleaser, super generous and selfless. So, think self-care and thoughtfulness when coming up with a gift. A spa day, scrapbook, or a day carved out just for them is the ideal gift for this person in your life.

Type 3: The Achiever

The pragmatic type, driven and determined three in your life will thrive off the newest innovative gadget out there. They like to push themselves, so anything that will give them a sense of accomplishment is the way to go.

Type 4: The Individualist

Four’s expressive and theatrical nature point directly to experience oriented gifts. A ticket to see the new band in town, or the latest show being performed is a great gift to present to your four.

Type 5: The Investigator

Intense and secretive fives are the perfect candidates for a whole line of gifts. A new journal, noise cancelling headphones, or a gratitude journal are all great ways to help your five channel their observations.

Type 6: The Loyalist

This type tends to be a little on the anxious side but is also super engaging and probably one of the most responsible people you know. A soft weighted blanket is a great way to help your six find their Zen.

Type 7: The Enthusiast

The pure adventurist is a spontaneous and exciting spirit. So, an out of the blue day trip, or a reservation for an adrenaline pumping outdoor activity is the best way to keep up with the sevens in your life.

Type 8: The Challenger

Powerful and decisive eights may seem hard to shop for but think of ways to give them a break from their tough exterior. A spa day, or relaxing yoga session could be a good way to warm up your eight.

Type 9: The Peacemaker

The harmonizer and reassuring nine in your life needs a little love back. Coffee mugs, a box of hand-written notes and some cozy news socks or scarves are ideal gifts for this softy.

Have fun shopping, but don’t forget to ask your friends and family what their enneagram type is before you go!
