Which Music Festival Should You Go to This Summer?

This is it, the first summer you’re allowed to go to out of the state to a music festival, but you can’t pick which one you want to go to. So many music festivals have killer lineups that appeal to many different audiences, which makes your decision that much harder. With price, different artists, location, and date, there are a lot of factors to consider when picking a festival to go to. Here’s a few things you need to know about each festival to help you decide which one is right for you!

Probably the most popular, because of publicity, would be Coachella.

Price: $375+

Location: Indio, California

Dates: April 10-12 and 17-19

Lineup.

Headliners: AC/DC, The Weeknd, and Drake.

Fun features: Ferris wheel, Silent dance party, Yoga, and so much more.

Another very popular festival is Bonnaroo.

Price: $324.50+

Location: Manchester, Tennessee

Dates: June 11-14

Lineup.

Headliners: Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, DeadMau5, and Kendrick Lamar.

Fun features: Silent Disco, Bonnaroo salon, Comedy theatre, and many more!

Equally as popular and fun is Lollapalooza.

Price: 1 day pass for $110, 3-day passes for $275+

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Dates: July 31- August 2

Lineup.

Headliners: Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence and the Machine, and Sam Smith.

Fun features: Farmer’s market, Kidzapalooza (festival inside Lolla for kids), and chow town!

One of the lesser known yet still equally as good festivals would be Firefly.

Price: $349+

Location: Dover, Delaware

Dates: June 18-21

Lineup.

Headliners: Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon, The Killers, Morrissey, and Snoop Dogg.

Fun features: Brewery, Market, Coffee House, a Hammock hangout and many more!

Another popular festival is Governor’s Ball.

Price: 1 day ticket $105+ 3-day ticket $260+

Location: Randall’s Island, NYC, New York

Dates: June 5-7

Lineup.

Headliners: Drake, The Black Keys, DeadMau5, Lana Del Rey, and Florence and the Machine.

Fun features: Takes place in NYC,  silent disco, art installations, photo and gif booths, a mixology tent and many more!

Another smaller festival would be Hangout Fest.

Price: $249+

Location: Gulf Shores, Alabama

Dates: May 15-17

Lineup.

Headliners: Foo Fighters, Sam Smith, Zac Brown Band, Beck, and Skrillex.

Fun features: Located right on the beach!

A new festival that is said to be the World’s Largest Music Festival is Summerfest.

Price: $12-$70+

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Dates: June 24-28, June 30-July 5

Lineup.

Headliners: Florida Georgia Line, Kings of Leon, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, Linkin Park, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and many more!

Fun features: Besides being the biggest festival in the world, it also features the most popular headlining acts from every single genre! You can buy reserved seats for specific acts if you aren’t interested in GA tickets.

Another newer festival featuring a great lineup this year is Shaky Knees!

Price: Single day tickets are $99+ and 3 day tickets are $215+

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Dates: May 8-10

Lineup

Headliners: The Strokes, The Avett Brothers, Wilco, The Pixies, Social Distortion, and many more.

Fun features: Food trucks, vendors, and late night acts!
