Loy Krathong in Thailand

Nov. 23

This festival of lights is something every person owes it to themselves to see. It is a new year’s tradition in Thailand in which people take the time to wash away misfortune or sins from the past year and wish for better things in the upcoming year. It is celebrated on the evening of the twelve month’s full moon in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. Everyone lights their own lantern and sends them off along rivers, lakes, and ponds along with their wishes.
