What It’s like Waiting for the Weekend, as Told by “Fourfiveseconds”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

If you haven’t heard by now, Rihanna did a song with Kanye West and Paul McCartney called “FourFiveSeconds” for her newest album coming out this year.

The video, released on February 3rd, has reached almost 30 million views on YouTube and features Rihanna, West, and McCartney in head-to-toe denim singing against a plain background in monochromatic fashion. West came up with the concept for the video, naturally (this is when he’s not “pretending” to interrupt Beck’s Album of the Year moment at The Grammy’s and furthering careers of new talent like McCartney, apparently).

However, as much as I like Paul McCartney and the classic denim look, this is not really what comes to mind when I’m waiting for it to finally be Friday. We all know waiting for the weekend sometimes (ok, most of the time) is a massive struggle. So here is what really happens when you’re trying to make it through the week, and it’s fourfiveseconds ‘til Friday.

MONDAY

Monday morning rolls around and you have to get out of bed after sleeping in the past few days.

And when you finally get the strength to roll out of bed, you do it as slowly as humanly possible in defiance.

You finally make it to class, and of course the one time you didn’t do the reading your teacher decides to have a pop quiz.

You haven’t even been in class for 10 minutes and you’re already over this week.

TUESDAY

All you can think about on Tuesday is making it to Wednesday, because if you make it to Wednesday, you’re halfway to Friday aka the weekend.

WEDNESDAY

Your hump day mantra: “Middle of the week, middle of the week, I can do this.”

Today you decide you’re going to look semi-presentable because you saw that really cute guy in your class on Monday and you know you weren’t looking so good.

So you walk into your class like…

…only to realize he’s not even here.

But you get tons of compliments throughout the day because people have never seen you look so presentable so you get a little cocky, and you’re starting to think you should put a little more effort into your appearance every day.

THURSDAY

But you’re back to leggings and an oversized shirt the next day because this is college and you really don’t care and it’s almost Friday. And even though this happens every week, you never change.

And just when you think you’re almost to the weekend, your friend starts unnecessary drama.

All you wanted to do was have a good weekend, and you really can’t handle her right now.

FRIDAY

When Friday finally rolls around, you can’t even contain your excitement!

You maybe even throw in some questionable dance moves like this:

Or this:

But it doesn’t matter because you and your squad are ready to have the fiercest weekend ever.

Have a great week, Collegiettes!
