There are nine different personality types, and knowing which one you are can help you understand how you connect with other types, as well as how you form relationships. Each Enneagram type is distinct, so the following are nine unique cities that would suit each personality type well.

Putting yourself in a position where you can do good and make a difference in a community is what makes you thrive. A Type 2 will fit right in with the kind, joyful Costa Rican people who are so welcoming. San José is the perfect base for you to travel around Costa Rica and take in the gorgeous landscapes and national parks that house diverse and unique wildlife.

New York is the best place for you to grow your image, and the hustle of the city that never sleeps will help you do just that. Your efficient and task-oriented mindset will be perfect for the fast-paced life that awaits you in New York.

As a Type 4, you consider yourself a true romantic and what better place for a romantic to live than in the city of love? Paris caters to your need for artistic expression with its multitude of museums and cafes. Living like a true Parisian is a dream for you and a visit to the Louvre is already on your bucket list. As a sensitive type that is prone to nostalgia, a wistful walk along the Seine in the evening would be a perfect way for you to see the city of Paris.
Type 5: Reykjavík, Iceland

The Investigator type is reserved, perceptive and independent, which makes you suited well to living in a smaller, but no less important and innovative city. Type 5 personalities need to feel useful and productive. Reykjavík prides itself on its use of renewable energy and the city focuses itself on creating technology that is beneficial to its environment and the economy. Iceland is well suited with its progressive education for a Type 5 that is always searching for more knowledge.
Type 6: Florence, Italy
As a Type 6, you love feeling safe and secure, and your home should reflect that. The Loyalist personality would thrive in Florence, a quaint city that is filled with history and beautiful architecture. The Italians make fast friends, who will be as loyal to you as you are to them. This responsible type will be great in a city that has so many temptations in the form of high-end fashion and amazing food. Type 7: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

From cruising down the canals to riding bikes to perusing the flower markets, Amsterdam is a colorful city waiting for a Type 7 that is just as ready for adventure as it is.
Type 8: Zurich, Switzerland

As a Type 8, you need to be constantly challenged both psychically and mentally. Zurich is the perfect home base to travel around Switzerland, which has beautiful scenery for hiking trails, as well as the Alps. Zurich has been labeled one of the most expensive cities in the world, being an extravagant place that keeps growing. Strong-willed minds like the Type 8 are needed to keep Switzerland as one of the top places in the world to live. To challenge yourself, learn how to speak German to better connect with the Swiss people.
Type 9: Stockholm, Sweden

As a Type 9, you long for inner stability and peace of mind. Stockholm is a wonderful place to see the swirling Northern Lights that would put any Peacemaker type at ease, as they seek connection with the world around them. Sweden is currently one of the safest places to live in the world. Stockholm offers so many calming activities, including hiking, ice skating, kayaking and more. Any Peacemaker who loves the catchy upbeat tunes of ABBA will have a great time at the ABBA museum in Stockholm.
