Santa Wreaks Havoc This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Ho-Ho-Holy Christmas! Christmas came a little early this year and apparently so did Santa Claus, as a giant inflatable blocked traffic on a busy road in England. For all of those people who try to ignore Christmas and can’t stand when people blast Christmas music as soon as the calendar switches to Dec. 1, I have news for you: the holiday season is here and giant inflatable Santa won’t let you forget it!

On Nov. 28, passengers traveling on an English road were shocked to see all of the traffic was caused by a runaway inflatable of Santa Claus blocking the highway. Hey, maybe his sleigh was in the shop, you can’t blame the guy! I know you’re thinking this can’t be real; however, I’m here to tell you that it’s just as real as Santa Claus (for all of you Christmas believers). Luckily, a video was captured by a rather shook witness, Muhammed Fareed, who caught film as our dear Father Christmas rolled through several lanes of traffic in Wisbech. Fareed stated that the larger-than-life decoration had apparently escaped from a resident’s front yard and that the Santa was bigger than his vehicle! If you wish to see the video, please click here! No Santas or individuals were harmed in the making of this film.

You think people who experienced the trauma were the only ones to hear about this experience? Nope! The story took to Twitter and a lot of the English locals, as well as a bunch of others, couldn’t help but tweet their Christmas spirit, or lack thereof.

That’s a catchy tune Rob; however, my personal favorite is, “He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake. He knows if you’ve been bad or good so stay off the interstate!”

I mean, there’s always a couple of scrooges out there, but I suppose I wouldn’t be too happy either if the Christmas spirit came rolling over my car.

If “Santa has finally been caught” isn’t one of the best sentences you’ve ever heard, then you’re lying.

In my opinion, there’s no better excuse to be late to work. Maybe a large inflatable Menorah just to top everything off. In fact, let’s just hit all of the upcoming holiday icons with cars to embrace the season. Stay safe – you never know when an inflatable Santa will grace you with his presence!
