The Best Gifts To Give Your Friends for Galantine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Many people associate the month of February with Valentine’s Day. But, what about the unofficial holiday that takes place right before Feb. 14: Galentine’s Day? This day is all about celebrating friendships and showing love to the people who know you best. Coming from someone whose love language is receiving gifts, I always think about what kind of gifts I would like to give and receive on this day. Thanks to social media, I have been exposed to so many fun and trendy gift options. In addition to products trending right now, I’ve also included some classic gift options.

If you’re a college student like me, you know that sometimes it can be difficult to find great gifts at affordable prices. So, let’s start with presents that are $10 or less. First of all, if you would like your friends to receive a meaningful gift, you can never go wrong with a card. This gift is free and you can make it fun by using colored paper and drawing designs on the card.

Furthermore, a classic gift that I feel like anyone would love is flowers. A bouquet, or even just a few flowers, is an inexpensive and sentimental option. Grocery stores such as Publix sell bouquets for around $10. Continuing with the classics, chocolate, especially ones that come in heart-shaped containers, is simple and delicious. Any grocery store or drug store sells these around this time of the year and, depending on the size, they can be less than $10.

The last item for $10 and under that I would personally love is a miniature bag. These little purses are so trendy and they sell from $5 to $10 on popular online stores.

In addition, these next couple of gifts are priced between $20 and $35. Faux gold jewelry is currently in style and virtually any clothing store sells it. Some places where I have seen cute faux gold jewelry are Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and Target. If you would like to make this gift even more special, you could get a faux gold necklace with your friend’s name on it. Many online shops like Etsy sell these for around $20.

A product that I recently discovered through TikTok that I absolutely love is the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask. I got mine from Sephora for $22, which is a great price for such an amazing product. Sephora and other beauty supply stores also sell popular products, such as the DIOR lip glow oil ($35) and Olaplex No. 3 ($28). I haven’t tried these two products yet, but they are both extremely popular and would make wonderful presents.

Lastly, all of the products I have mentioned thus far are popular, but nothing compares to the hype and buzz around the Dyson Airwrap. It appears to be the most talked-about beauty item nowadays. It is unfortunate that such a popular product is costly, as it is priced at around $600. However, it is fortunate for us that there are less expensive dupes of this product. Most of these dupes, including the BaByliss Air Style 1000 and FLOWER Beauty Titanium Rotating Styling Iron, cost around $70. For college students, this may be on the pricier side, but they appear to be well worth the cost.

Ultimately, I feel that anyone would love any of these gifts for Galentine’s Day. I have seen most of these gifts at larger stores, but don’t forget to check out local stores and smaller businesses for other products! There are so many new and trendy options that your friends or even yourself could utilize.
