The Only 10 Nail Polishes You Need This Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Summer is all about rosé, beach days, flowery dresses and colorful nail polish. This season’s right around the corner, but you can already get a kick start on summer by switching up your nail color to something a little cheerier and more fun. From icy blue to neon green, we have the 10 best nail polish you’ll be carrying through all your summer adventures.

1. Bright Coral

In case you missed it, the Pantone color of the year is Living Coral, and there is not a better way to wear this vibrant orangey pink than painted in opaque layers across your nails.

2. Frosty Periwinkle

If you were looking for more after seeing Lady Gaga’s gown in this shade at the Golden Globes, you need this nail polish. Blue nail polish may seem hard to wear and match, but this bright periwinkle purple is softened by its frosty flecks, making it flattering on every skin tone.

3. Orangey Red

Reds are a go-to for every season, but it’s this orangey shade of red that will make all the difference. Opt for this bright red that will put your nails in the spotlight in any situation.

Jinsoon in Pop Orange ($18)

4. Metallic Fuchsia

This party-in-a-bottle is definitely not new, but like actual confetti, balloons, cupcakes and champagne, it never goes out of style. Definitely the perfect shade of pink for that after-party down the beach.

5. Bright Yellow

Go bright or go home with this vibrant yellow that will keep you warm this season. Who said you couldn’t match the sun?

6. Icy Blue

Beloved LA nail salon Olive & June has launched its own nail collection. Of the six beautiful neutrals that came out, this icy blue is the one we loved the most.

7. Neon Pink

Long-Lasting neon pink is a forever classic. From OPI’s summer collection that launched last year, this shade is still the most vibrant and loud in the best way possible.

8. Shimmery Turquoise

We don’t just love this shade because of the name (thank you Cardi B), but because this turquoise with shifting blue and violet shimmer looks incredibly good! It’s the perfect shade for those wild summer nights out.

9. Neon Green

I dare to say that neons are basically neutrals these days. This trend will definitely stay a while. However, unless you’re Gig Hadid or that really cool friend, you won’t change your wardrobe to embrace the slime-green color. Thus, I suggest trying the trend on your nails with a neon-green polish.

10. Bronze

If bright colors and neons are a little too much for you this summer, opt for a metallic polish with a copper tone for your next beach vacay. This shade has a golden, iridescent shimmer that acts as a body glow for your nails.
