This past week, the friendly face from Fuller House, Lori Loughlin, and her husband were charged for paying their two daughters’ way into the prestigious University of Southern California. Olivia Jade, 19, and Isabella Rose, 20, were admitted into the school as recruits for the crew team, despite never participating in the sport before. Olivia Jade had only been a student at USC since the fall of 2018. Reportedly both Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose have now both decided to withdraw for USC.
Information was released showing that Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, spent $500,000 in bribes to assure their daughters’ acceptance into a college “other than Arizona State University.”
Giannulli and Loughlin were just two of dozens of people who took part in the college scam. Dozens of others have been charged for attempting to do similar actions with other schools such as Harvard, Yale and Georgetown.
Because of Lori Loughlin and her husband’s actions, Loughlin has been fired from the Hallmark channel. Her daughter, Olivia Jade, a Youtuber who currently has 1.9 million subscribers and 1.4 million Instagram followers, has also suffered the consequences after losing her partnership with Sephora. Her bronzer palette is no longer available on their website.
Sephora isn’t the only company to cut ties with the social media star: TRESemmé decided to end their sponsorship with her shortly after the news came out. Suspicions have been raised about the possibility of Olivia also being dropped from the Australian clothing line, Princess Polly. The product page involving the collaboration between this company and the social media influencer has since been taken down. The star is involved in multiple other sponsorships, but those companies have yet to speak on the issue.
