Florida State University (FSU) now officially has four weeks until the spring academic semester ends and summer begins! And while this time can feel like a drag, there is still so much to do around campus. Take a break from studying for an hour or two and check out these events going on at FSU these upcoming weeks!

Student Life Center (SLC) showing of Little Women: March 28 (7 p.m.)

In honor of Women’s History Month, FSU’s Women’s Student Union and SLC are collaborating with a showing of the film Little Women! It will take place on March 28 at the Student Life Center. No ticket purchase is necessary but make sure to get there early and secure your spot! There will be free popcorn and soda as well.

Pi’s and powderpuff: march 28 (6-10 p.m.)

The Alpha Delta Pi sorority will be holding their second annual powderpuff flag football and cheerleading philanthropy event at Doak Campbell Stadium! With a $7 admission ticket, you will receive a hotdog, chips, a cookie and water. Their philanthropy works towards supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tallahassee and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation.

fsu linedance: march 30 (7 p.m.)

This event involves watching various sororities perform professionally choreographed dances to see who will be crowned the winner. The event will be held at the Donald Tucker Civic Center and tickets are $20. This event has sold out before, so if you plan on going, buy your tickets in advance!

Club Downunder (CDU) Literary Open Mic Night: March 30 (7 p.m.)

Come out and read your work to the masses! You can sign up through emailing or at the door day of! Doors open at 6 p.m.

As You Like It, presented by FSU’s School of theatre: March 30 through April 10

A classic Shakespeare comedy! Tickets for adults start at $25 while student tickets are $10; there are further variations for seniors, military and FSU employees. There is a $5 ticket increase when bought at the door. You can click here to buy tickets and see certain nights’ availabilities.

kappa, koffee, and goats: april 1 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)

The sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) will be holding their philanthropy event where a ticket will get you a:

  • Coffee
  • Donut
  • Unforgettable experience of holding a baby goat
  • A chance at a raffle for an electronic device, gift cards and more!

Their philanthropy supports The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the KKG Foundation. A ticket is $7 if purchased beforehand and $10 day of. It will take place at their house just behind Westcott Fountain!

fsu baseball vs notre dame (april 1, 2 and 3)

Within Dick Howser Stadium, our men’s team takes on Notre Dame three days in a row:

  • April 1 at 7 p.m.
  • April 2 and 2 p.m.
  • April 3 at 1 p.m.

FSU students get in for free with proof of a student ID, or tickets can be purchased on their website. The team also plays Jacksonville on April 5 (7 p.m.), Stetson on April 6 (4 p.m.), and then the home games continue beginning April 12 (7 p.m.) against the University of Florida.

CDU Spring fling: april 1 (6 p.m.)

Cool down and make your way over to Landis Green for CDU’s annual Spring Fling! The event will include an obstacle course, food, lemonade, jousting and even mechanical surfboarding! Entry is free, but the lines can always be an obstacle in themselves, so make sure to get there early.

relay for life: april 2 (12 p.m. to 12 a.m.)

Taking place at the Old Intramural Fields, FSU will be hosting their Relay event where teams and individuals will come together to honor caregivers, survivors and those who have passed from cancer. You must donate/raise $15 to attend, and there are different themes every hour and varying events throughout the day! The event embodies a hopeful message that the future can be free from cancer.

barrio fiesta: april 2 (6 p.m.)

The Filipino Student Association at FSU will be holding their annual Barrio Fiesta at Wesley Foundation Hall! It will be a magical night theme with food, performances and more. You must RSVP using this link. The attire is formal and everyone is asked to wear a mask.

FSU women’s tennis vs tulane: april 2 (12 p.m.)

This game is free with proof of student ID at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center. The FSU women’s tennis team also has more home games later in the month against Boston College on April 15 (5 p.m.) and Syracuse on April 17 (12 p.m.).

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Heroes vs Villains: April 6 (6 p.m.)

FSU’s NPHC will be performing their spring yard show free for all students with proof of FSU ID at The Moore Auditorium! Seats will be limited, so make sure to show up on time!

FSU Softball vs Virginia Tech (April 8 at 6 p.m., April 9 at 1 p.m., and April 10 at 12 p.m.)

Our women’s team takes on Virginia Tech three days in a row at home on the Joanne Graf Field. FSU students get in for free with proof of a student ID. The team also plays against Stetson University and Clemson University later in April.

Best Buddies Friendship Walk: April 10 (4-8 p.m.)

FSU’s Best Buddies chapter will be holding their annual Friendship Walk for the first time at Doak Campbell Stadium! Best Buddies works to create a better and more inclusive society for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You can make a page through this link to raise money for the cause, but anyone is welcome to attend! You can also sign up to volunteer (and receive community service hours!) using this link.
