October is officially here! Since Halloween is right around the corner, it’s time for us to countdown our top picks for new movies and tv shows headed to Netflix this month!
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 5
Blumhouse’s newest supernatural horror film starring Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell hit Netflix on Oct. 5. The film is an adaptation of a Stephen King short story of the same name and tells the story of a boy who is given the ability to speak with those beyond the grave with a supernatural cell phone.
Nailed It! (Season Seven)
Coming to Netflix: Oct. 5
For the faint of heart who still love Halloween, Nailed It! The baking competition show returned this October with an all-new Halloween-themed season. With five episodes featuring stars from Cobra Kai, The Witcher and The Umbrella Academy, this season is sure to be one of the best ones yet!
The Midnight Club (Season One)
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 7
From the makers of The Haunting of Hill House, The Midnight Club is the newest ghost story show that hit our screens on Oct. 7. Based on the novel by Christopher Pike, The Midnight Club tells the scary stories of five mentally ill teenage hospice patients.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 14
For our comedy fans, The Curse of Bridge Hollow stars Stranger Things star Priah Ferguson and Marlon Waynes as a father and daughter-duo. When their town is overrun by possessed Halloween decorations, the two team up to save the day.
The School for Good and Evil
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 19
The highly anticipated film adaptation of Soman Chainani’s bestselling fantasy film is finally coming to Netflix on Oct. 19. The School for Good and Evil tells the story of best friends, Agatha (Sofia Wylie) and Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso), and their journey as they navigate the ups and downs of an enchanted school for heroes and villains.
28 Days Haunted (Season One)
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 21
For our true crime and supernatural fans, the brand-new reality series 28 Days Haunted is set to hit our Netflix screens on Oct. 21. The show will follow three teams as they spend 28 days exploring some of the most haunted spots in America.
Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 25-28
If you’re suffering through the current American Horror Story drought, Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities looks like it will solve all your problems. We don’t know much about the horror anthology series yet, but it will feature eight episodes and premiere two episodes at a time from Oct. 25-28.
Wendell & Wild
Netflix Release Date: Oct. 28
Finally, we have the only animated film on this year’s list. Wendell & Wild is an all-new stop-motion animated horror film from the director of Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The film was produced by horror veteran Jordan Peele and will star himself and Keegan Michael Key alongside Angela Basset.
