It’s that time of year where nothing’s better than snuggling up in cozy blankets, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying an evening filled with Christmas movies to get you into the holiday spirit. Each year people create their bucket list of movies to enjoy, which can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide which new features you should add to your list. No worries, I’m here to make that easier for you! Here are some new Christmas movies you should consider adding to your list of movies this Christmas.

The Holiday Calendar

If you’re a fan of the best-friends-turned-lovers trope, this movie is for you. The Holiday Calendar follows the story of a photographer who inherits an antique Advent calendar that seems to predict her future. While she’s waiting for her real life to begin, she discovers that what she’s been waiting for has been in front of her the entire time. I fell in love with this movie instantly, and even though it had its cheesy moments, that’s what makes Christmas movies so great, right? With heart-throbs like Quincy and Ethan Peck, you’ll want to add this movie to your list.

This is a no-brainer for us Disney lovers. If you haven’t seen this classic, then this should definitely be an addition to your bucket list. Although this isn’t a Netflix original, the movie was recently added to the site and is without a doubt on the top of my list. In this movie, Mickey and his friends tell three Christmas stories, including “Donald Duck Stuck on Christmas” and “A Very Goofy Christmas.” By the end, if Mickey and Minnie’s thoughtful gift exchange doesn’t warm your heart, I don’t know what else will.

The Christmas Chronicles

This adventurous Christmas story is both comical and sentimental. It follows the story of two bickering siblings who spend Christmas Eve by themselves, and in their endeavors to catch Santa Claus on camera, they embark on this crazy mission to save the holiday before it’s too late. From the producers that gave us Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, this movie is fun for the whole family, leaving you in high spirits to enjoy the holiday.

You can never go wrong with a Christmas romance, especially when it involves beautiful castles, foreign lands, gowns and snow. A Christmas Prince follows the tale of an aspiring young journalist who is sent to get the scoop on a dashing prince who is headed to the throne. This movie will charm you like no other, warming your insides with love and elation. You’ll be even more excited for the holiday.

Watch the CW’s The 100 lead Eliza Taylor (Clarke) in an entirely new element. This movie is about the young and ambitious Ellen Langford who must deliver a special Christmas card to her father’s former business in the small town of Snow Falls before inheriting her father’s business. Along her journey, she discovers the true meaning of Christmas. If the quaint, cozy town of Snow Falls isn’t enough to make you add this to your list, this movie has everything you need to get into the holiday spirit.

Sweet treats, cozy towns and more palaces? Count me in. Vanessa Hudgens stars in this beautiful and fun tale of two identical women, one a duchess and the other an ordinary baker from Chicago, who upon crossing paths, switch places, and as they each fall for the other’s beau, things get complicated. This warm-hearted movie should be added to your list as you go through this holiday season.
