My Favorite Study Spots on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

One of my favorite things about Florida State University (FSU) is the beautiful campus. Campus life has been pretty boring this past semester, so I love getting out and exploring the campus whenever I have a chance. There are so many great study spots around campus, from outside seating on Landis to inside Strozier where it’s quieter. It’s pretty easy to get sick of staying in your dorm room all day long, so switch it up and go study somewhere else. There’s such a wide variety of study spaces on campus that there’s bound to be a place for everyone. Here are some of my favorite study spots on campus!

1. Tables Outside Landis

This is one of my favorite outside studying spots on campus. There are tables and chairs which are on the side of Landis Green, and next to the ACE building, and it’s the perfect outside spot. Even if you don’t feel like studying, this is still a great place to sit outside and soak up some sun or a great place to sit and eat some lunch with friends.

2. Strozier Library

Strozier is by far my favorite place to study on campus when I need to grind and get some work done, or when I especially need to focus on my work. There are tons of seating options, even with the socially distanced tables which I appreciate, and an added bonus is that there’s a Starbucks directly inside (but it does close early so you have to make sure to go before it closes). Strozier is open late too, making it the perfect place to study once finals roll around.

3. Seating Outside of Strozier

This is another one of my favorite outdoor spots if I don’t want to be inside for the day. This beautiful, shaded area has tons of outside seating which makes it great for studying. Located right out of Strozier too, this is the perfect place to grab some Starbucks from inside Strozier and sit outside and get some work done.

4. The Sweet Shop Café and Lounge

Located on Jefferson Street, directly across from campus, the Sweet Shop is one of my favorite go-to spots. Even though it’s technically not located on campus, it’s less than a five-minute walk away from campus. They have tons of inside seating and outside seating too and have all kinds of drinks and food. There are smoothies, teas, coffee drinks, bagels and even wraps. My go-to is always an iced tea with a bagel.

5. Landis Green

I don’t know about you, but I have been missing the sunny, warmer days and now that it’s springtime, this is the perfect time to grab a blanket, bring a book and sit outside on Landis Green. I love sitting in the sun and soaking up the vitamin-D that I’ve desperately needed. You can sit alone and read a good book and study for that upcoming exam, or bring some friends and chill and listen to some music, if that’s what you’re feeling.
