Name: Rob Henderson
Age: 22
Major: Statistics
Relationship Status: In a relationship
Her Campus (HC): What extracurricular activities are you involved in at FSU?
Rob Henderson (RH): President of Sailing Club, former Scuba Club member, Alumni Chair of the Mortar Board Honor Society
HC: What made you get involved with the Scuba and Sailing clubs?
RH: I came to Florida State from New Jersey for the warm weather so I could have more time on the water. When I heard there was a Sailing Club at Florida State, I had to take advantage of the opportunity to work toward my dream of being Jack Sparrow.
HC: As president of the Sailing Club, what do you guys do?
RH: We teach people how to sail at the Rez, we compete with other colleges in the Southeast, we cruise and race in the Gulf of Mexico thanks to the Apalachee Bay Yacht Club, and we get sunglasses tans.
HC: What are your hobbies outside of school organizations?
RH: I like anything outside. Camping, kayaking, hiking, etc… gotta keep adventuring. On top of that, I spend a lot of time staying in shape because I don’t really like shirts.
HC: Describe your perfect date!
RH: Being totally sunburned with a girl that can rock the salty beach hair look, stumbling upon some tiki bar on the beach that has cheeseburgers, and Jack Johnson and O.A.R. performing live.
HC: What’s your most embarrassing moment?
RH: You have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes, so none really.
HC: What’s your favorite memory at FSU?
RH: The first time I went out sailing in the open seas, a dolphin breached over the boat and I got to do a jumping high 5 with its fin. Shortly after this, our un-able bodied crew accidently found a sandbar in the middle of the gulf. The people I was with and the unconventional (and genius) methods we used to un-ground our boat… I will never forget.
