Meet the Executive Team: Our Spring Break Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

With Spring Break 2018 coming up we asked ourselves, what can we not live without for the ultimate spring break? Here’s what the executive team members of Her Campus FSU came up with!

Emma Cyphers – Secretary

“1. Sunscreen is so important! Nothing’s worse than coming back to classes red and in pain.

2. A portable Bluetooth speaker is the best way to make chilling by the beach with your friends more enjoyable. Bluetooth allows anyone in the group to create the soundtrack to your spring break.

3. An adorable pool float is essential to a relaxing ride down a lazy river or a photo op lounging in the Landis Fountain.

4. Finally, a big beach tote to carry all of your spring break essentials is ideal.”

Felicity Warner – Editor-in-Chief

“If you’re anything like me, even 10 minutes in the sun without sun protection will leave my face unpleasantly pink. Whether I’m walking around downtown or hitting the beach, I always keep a hat in my bag. This spring break, I’ll be sporting my Her Campus Girl Gang hat. Who says sun protection isn’t trendy?!”

“Baseball caps are a MUST HAVE for spring break and summer for me. They’re a super cute accessory that literally tops off any outfit perfectly. Cute swimsuit? Add a baseball cap! Flowy sundress? Add a baseball cap! Plus, they help protect your face and neck from sun damage.”

Samantha Buxbaum – Senior Events Coordinator

“My go-to spring break essential is a good flowy outfit. I’m going to L.A. so I’m going to be hitting up a lot of the beaches over there, so I want to stay comfy yet fashionable. I recently got this orange jumpsuit from H&M and I can’t wait to wear it in L.A.! “

“Spring break is always filled with beaches, tanning and photos. Sunglasses are not only an accessory but a necessity to protect your eyes! They can be totally funky and take an outfit to the next level. These are some of my faves!”

Tawnie Simpson – Junior Social Media Director

“My spring break essential is pretty obvious, but a good swimsuit! There is absolutely nothing more important coming from someone who literally lives in a swimsuit over spring break. You’re bound to hit the beach or the pool at least once so you may as well have a swimsuit to wear that makes you feel cute, comfortable and confident. A versatile swimsuit that you can mix and match with cover-ups, sandals and accessories is ideal, and I am personally so into the high-leg style and bright red color right now. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and I ordered the pictured one-piece swimsuit on sale from ASOS about a week ago. That sale is still going on with up to 70% off of swimwear, so jump on it quick!”
