Meet The Executive Team: Fall Makeup Essentials You Need To Have

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

The weather has finally started to cool down in Tallahassee which means it’s time to break out all your best fall looks. That’s right, it’s time for that extra smoky eye look, a nice matte lip, and of course, a lot of shimmer. Here is what makeup looks our exec team is loving this season.

Giselle Parks, Graphic Designer and All-Around Makeup GODDESS

“My favorite fall makeup products right now are from a variety of brands at a variety of price points. I love a good burgundy eyeshadow, and Kat Von D has hit the payload with her Lolita collection. My favorite brand for years, KVD is cruelty-free, mostly vegan, and at a solid middle price point for high-end products, her lipsticks and eyeshadows and eyeliners never disappoint. I’ve been using the eyeshadow version of Lolita as a blush lately and it’s the perfect shade for my skin tone. I sweep it in my creases on my eyelids and diffuse it all over for a monochrome, blown-out subtly red eye look. Patting some gold shadows or shimmer pigments in the center of my lid to make the look pop, I polish it off with a cat eye winged liner and some mascara. Colourpop has snagged a spot in my favorites repertoire as well— super affordable and incredibly good quality make it unbeatable when it comes down to it. I’ve been using their metallic shimmer shades in the center of my lid to add some dimension to my monochrome looks. Aside from my favorite Morphe 35O palette, Tarte’s Swamp Queen palette also has some great colors for a fall-colored natural smoky eye. Topped off with either Lolita or Lolita II on the lips, a monochrome burgundy look comes together. The color I’ve been loving all fall is Out Loud by Smashbox. It’s the perfect burnt orange, so I can at least pretend the leaves change to a similar color during fall in Florida.”

“My fall beauty must-haves are Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara and Simple Hydrating Booster. I keep my makeup routine simple, but having a clean face and nice lashes are always a must!”

“During the fall, I am obsessed with this matte lip color by MAC called ‘Whisp’. It’s the perfect “no-makeup” lip color and I wear it all the time. It’s also not very drying which is perfect when the temperature starts to drop.”

“What I use to create my perfect fall makeup look is my Naked 2 palette and some [of] my CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom mascara to create a simple, smoky look for fall! I brush my Naked palette’s Tease into 3/4s of the outside of my eyelid, then I use YDK to highlight the inner quarter of my eyelid, then I finish off with Busted on the outer edges to create awesome definition. Then the mascara really ties the whole look together!”

“Two of my fall go-to makeup products are the Too Faced Natural Matte eyeshadow palette and the ColorPop glimmer shadow in Jinxie. I love Golds and Browns for fall and these two products are great for that! Also, the ColorPop glimmer shadow can be used as a highlighter, which is also amazing.”

“My go-to fall look must include a bold lip. When I’m in more of a berry mood, I grab my Clinique Chubby Stick in ‘Grandest Grape’ and if I’m feeling more of a red, I go for my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in ‘Cherry Blossom’. During the fall and winter months, I am also all about the shimmer. I enjoy using the Benefit ‘Watts Up!’ highlighting stick!”
