Halloween in Tallahassee is no trick. This year there are tons of events lined up for the locals and anyone visiting from out of town. Just because Halloween falls on a weekday, doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of events to choose from that are compatible with your busy schedule. From haunted houses to terrifying escape rooms, there is a wide range of events for anyone who wants to spend a spooky evening in Tallahassee. If you are interested in finding out more about these events, keep reading because this year’s lineup is great for anyone who is open to celebrating Halloween while also keeping their budget in check.

Haunted Trail 2019:

Presented by the Tallahassee Museum, venture on a trail through the woods in the dark of night. There will be spooky decorations and surprise creatures set up along the way that are sure to make anyone frightfully embrace the true spirit of Halloween.

Who: No one under the age of twelve is allowed, but all others are welcome. For the Sneak Preview Haunted Trail special, you must be eighteen years or older to purchase tickets and attend.

When: Opens Thursday, Oct. 24 through Saturday, Oct. 26. The Sneak Preview is on Oct. 24 only. The event is from 7:15 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for all days of operation.

Florida Haunted Houses and More:

Florida Haunted Houses offers a variety of different events all month long. If you are looking for a time you won’t forget, there are hayrides, haunted houses and mazes to ensure you’ll have a memorable Halloween experience. One event specific to Tallahassee is the Terror of Tallahassee event. On their website, this event is often compared to more popular ones like Howl-O-scream in Tampa and Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando.

Who: Anyone can attend, but kids ages twelve and under must be accompanied by a guardian at all times at the event.

When: Opens Thursday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 27 and reopens Wednesday, Oct. 30 through Saturday, Nov. 2. Hours of operation depend on the day you wish to attend.

Where: Takes place half a mile South of FSU’s Football stadium. (Address: 1408 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, FL, 32304.)

Ticket Prices: Ticket prices depend on age and size of the group attending. Also, fast pass line tickets are more expensive. See the website for more information.

The Mansion Escape Room:

This hands-on approach allows people to be submerged in all the action. The three themes: Pirate Plank Escape, Chef Olivieri Rescue and Espionage Agent can allow you and your friends, family and classmates to share a true bonding experience under duress. Each room has varying difficulty and limits on the number of people that can join in.

Who: The Chef Olivieri Rescue room has a minimum requirement of fourteen years of age to participate. The other two don’t specify an age requirement.

When: There is a calendar on the website that has specific dates and times available for booking. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week.

Where: Located on Apalachee Parkway. (Address: ​ 6497 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311.)

Ticket Prices: Prices vary depending on the number of people in the group. Groups of sixteen or more are eligible to receive a special group discount. All others must pay the normal fee of $24.99 including tax. See the website for more information.

Halloween Drag Show:

For a unique performance, attend this event presented by Capital City Tattooz where local Tallahassee drag queens come to entertain. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided by Chi-Chi’s Café; all you have to do is show up.

Who: Anyone can attend.

When: The event takes place on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3:30 pm to 05:30 pm. The drag show starts at 4:30 pm.

Where: This event takes place at Capital City Tattooz. (Address: 458 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 3201.)
