Her Campus (HC): What do you like doing with your free time?

Lilli Jenkins (LJ): I coach soccer for six year olds, I’m a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters, I love going to the beach and I love to go out dancing.

HC: What three words would you use to describe yourself?

LJ: Adventurous, caring, and happy.

HC: Where are you from?

LJ: I consider Hawaii home, but I’m a military brat so I’ve been everywhere.

HC: Where have you lived?

LJ: I was born in Idaho, and then moved to Virginia, Hawaii, South Carolina, Georgia, back to Virginia, Germany, back to Hawaii, and now I’m here for college.

HC: Wow! So you came all the way to Tallahassee just for school?

LJ: Yeah! It’s a long way, but I’ve wanted to go to Florida State since I was three.

HC: When do you graduate?

LJ: I graduate this December.

HC: What are your plans for after graduation?

LJ: I plan to move up to Charlotte and teach for a while before going to grad school hopefully at Chapel Hill to study social work.  After that I want to travel every summer to a different country that I haven’t been before.

HC: So do you ultimately want to be a teacher?

LJ: I want to be a teacher for a couple years, but ultimately I want to reach out and help children who come from a rough background.

HC: Where does your love of working with children come from?

LJ: My mom worked with kids who had special needs and I always saw how much good she did.  I’ve always looked up to her and knew that at the end of the day, I wanted to impact a child’s life like she did.
