5 Clothing Items That Help Me “Look Good, Feel Good” During Finals Week

It’s that time of year all students dread: finals week. Between locking yourself in Dirac Science Library for hours and downing all the caffeine you can find, comfy attire is essential. Still, I’m a firm believer in the look good, feel good mantra. When I walk into an exam in an outfit I’m confident in, it genuinely boosts my mindset going into it. So, without further ado, here are my top five clothing items that help me channel this feel-good energy during finals week.

Brandy Melville Sweatpants

I’m not kidding when I say my Brandy Melville sweatpants are my wardrobe warriors. They come in so many different colors and styles, from classic bottom cinch to wide leg and more. My favorite way to style them is with a patterned hoodie or a matching tank, elevating sweatpants from comfortable to cute and cozy.

My current go-to pair is the Anastasia Tie Sweatpants, and I’d be lying if I said they weren’t a weekly wear for me. Brandy Melville sweatpants are comfortable, affordable, and cute — the best combo to step into a final exam with.

Garage Sleek Scoop Tanks

Whenever I’m wearing a pair of Brandy Melville sweatpants, you’ll most likely find me pairing them with Garage’s Sleek Scoop Cami Top. They’re the perfect tops for going out to study locations, lounging around, and layering. They come in so many different colors, and the material is stretchy but supportive. For a studious week, they’re perfect under a hoodie or a cozy cardigan, and easily an item from my closet I gravitate towards all the time.

Hollister’s Low-Rise Baggy Jeans

These jeans are hands-down my most-worn item from my wardrobe. From the low-rise fit on the waist to the baggy feel all over, these jeans are the most comfortable pair I own. I have them in three different washes, the medium wash pair being my favorite, and I can confidently say these are the only jeans I’ll wear anywhere and everywhere. A pair of jeans this comfortable is the perfect solution to feeling cute going into that final exam you’ve been studying for.

This hoodie is a perfect example of something a little pricey, but so worth it. They come in different fun patterns, it’s a hoodie that “hoodies,” and it’s become a staple in my closet. My personal favorite is the cow print hoodie. A cozy, oversized fit with a fun pattern is a great way to make a lounging outfit more interesting for class, and a perfect option for adding some spice to your chosen finals fit.

Aerie’s Crossover Flared Leggings

You can never go wrong with a basic pair of leggings, but this crossover waist design and bottom flare add an extra feel to an outfit that isn’t quite there with regular leggings. They come in many different colors, my top one right now being Deep Cherry. I find that they’re easy to pair with an off-the-shoulder tee, a cropped sweatshirt, or even a matching workout top to complete the look. They’re the perfect option to mix active with comfortable, and a stylish choice to go into any final exam with.

Finals week will always be chaotic, but feeling put-together can make those all-nighter study sessions and early morning reviews feel much more manageable. These five pieces are the items that keep me feeling cozy, cute, and (mostly) sane during the most intense stretch of the semester. No matter how your finals go, here’s to looking good, feeling good, and finishing the semester strong.
