Attention all country music-loving collegiettes!

Florida State’s very own Kappa Kappa Gamma has an upcoming event you’re not going to want to miss. Introducing Kappa’s Kountry Fest! Their new philanthropy event includes live music, great food, and raising money for a cause close to Kappa’s heart. Her Campus got in touch with Kappa’s very own philanthropy chair, Ivey Gordon, who spilled all the details for the first-ever Kappa Kountry Fest.

“I actually first got the inspiration for the idea of Kappa Kountry Fest from a Kappa alum and mother of one of our sisters,” she told Her Campus. “She thought having a popular musician at our philanthropy event would be a great opportunity for Kappa and our philanthropies. She loves Kappa, and wanted to help our chapter any way she can.” Her company, Demetree Global, is even the main sponsor of the event! “I was excited to try out a new philanthropy event this year and I thought a concert would be a fun and new philanthropy event for us. I know how much I enjoy concerts and country music. Dance Marathon also did a very similar event in the beginning of the year, and I always thought it was a great idea,” Ivey added.

On Tuesday, April 14 from 6-9pm at The Moon, Tyler Denning Band will open up the night with a performance, followed by a concert by Love and Theft. Love and Theft is famous for songs like “Angel Eyes” and “Night That You’ll Never Forget.”

“Tyler Denning has performed at some of our previous events, and always does a great job. He was very excited when I asked [him] to be the opening act for a band as big as Love and Theft,” Ivey explained.

They will also have some great food trucks and a variety of raffle prizes to be won at the event. The food trucks Fat Mac’s Cafe, Smackin Good Wings, and Lofty Pursuits will all be present. The raffle prizes will include gifts from southern tide and Fraternity Collection, a Madison Social gift card, and a Chick-Fil-A basket!

Kappa Kountry Fest will be benefiting Reading is Fundamental as well as the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. Kappa proudly promotes and supports Reading is Fundamental as their main philanthropic cause. The organization helps to promote literacy among children by providing books to children who cannot afford them and are in need of them the most. Reading is Fundamental is actually the largest nonprofit children’s literacy organization.

Kappa Kappa Gamma invites and welcomes anyone and everyone to their event! Doors open at 6:00 pm, Tyler Denning Band performs from 6:30-7:00 pm, raffle prizes will be distributed around 7:00-7:15, and Love and Theft performs from 7:30-9:00 pm.
