The holidays are here according to country singer and six-time Grammy award winner, Kacey Musgraves. Prime Video has announced that Musgraves will be getting her own holiday special, which is set to air on Friday, Nov 29. The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show will feature many celebrity guests, all of whom Musgraves has featured on her Instagram in order to promote the special. An official promo video was released on Nov 4. In the video, Musgraves is in a dressing room surrounded by Rockettes. She places candy canes on the mirrors of some of her celebrity guests but then throws coal at the mirror of Dan Levy, who is narrating the special, according to Rolling Stone.
Throughout the special, there will be many performances from big-name singers such as Lana Del Rey, who will be singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and Camila Cabello singing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. Rolling Stone has also reported that Troye Sivan will be performing “Glittery,” a new song, in its world premiere during the special. Many assume that Musgraves will be singing some of the songs from her 2016 Christmas album A Very Kacey Christmas; after all, Musgraves stated: “My vision was to bring my old Christmas album to life visually and create a modern and fashionable, fresh take on a classic format.” According to TV Guide, the special will have a soundtrack to be released featuring music from the show:

Not only will audiences be gifted with performances from a wide array of singers and a dance performance from The Rockettes, but Kendall Jenner and Musgraves’ grandmother will also be making guest appearances. Musgraves is particularly excited about her grandmother’s appearance. She posted a photo of her grandmother on Instagram with a caption that said “……and the biggest star on the entire tree: Nana. Yes, my actual Texas Grandma. Yes, the one who cried when I pierced my nose.” Many fans were thrilled, commenting things like “superstar” and “we stan Nana.”

It’s heartfelt, funny and, most of all, real. I can’t wait to finally share.”
Referred to by Pop Sugar as a “Fashion Queen,” Musgraves is known for her style. Fans and critiques alike are expecting to see some bold fashion choices made by Musgraves in this special, especially due to the special’s logline: “The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show invites fans in as Musgraves prepares for a most joyful Christmas gathering with a whimsical set and dazzling wardrobe influenced by the artist’s fresh aesthetic. Equal parts heart-warming and cleverly absurd, Musgraves pays tribute to holiday specials of the past whilst also reinventing just what a Christmas special can be, with a magically modern twist.” Fans are excited to see what Musgraves has in store for this special.
