Jonas Brothers Rumored Reunion: What You Need to Know

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

This is not a drill. Sit down. Take a deep breath. Brace yourself. It’s that time of year once again, the time for Jonas Brothers reunion rumors to take over the internet. This time, however, the rumors seem to be more legitimate than ever before. According to some alleged insiders, your favorite brothers are back and better than ever and are planning a major comeback for the first time since splitting up six years ago. Time to go grab those old “Future Mrs. Jonas” t-shirts, embrace your inner 12-year-old and get ready to send out an S.O.S because the boys are back in town.

According to The Sun, Joe, Nick and Kevin all flew to London to brainstorm new music AND a documentary (how did we get so lucky?). One insider told the publication, “after enjoying solo music success and taking time to work on passion projects, they feel that now is the right time to get back together.” The famous trio are also planning on dropping the word “brothers” from their name and working under the new name JONAS and to be honest, I’m not upset about that at all. If our sources got it right, this could potentially be the best news of 2019.

Not to be dramatic, but it seems like just about every 20 something-year-old woman is freaking out over the news of the reunion of the century. Twitter has basically turned into a J14 magazine with fangirls coming out of hiding to celebrate the joyous news.

The popular 2000’s boyband was formed in 2005 and released four full-length albums, a 3D documentary film and starred in JONAS L.A. before going their separate ways in 2013. They had planned a comeback tour and fifth studio album titled V, but the band supposedly experienced “a deep rift” and didn’t want to compromise their familial bonds. Their split came just after the release of two singles, “Pom Poms” and “First Time,” both of which were expected to be on their fifth album. Now, six years later, they are teasing fans with the thought of finally getting that coveted album.

None of the JoBros have commented on the reunion rumors but a not-so-sneaky Nick was caught liking several fans’ tweets about the rumors, further exciting the boy band’s fan base to no end.

Even though all three heartthrobs are either married or engaged, we can still all get very excited about the prospect of seeing our childhood crushes live on tour once again very soon. It’s been 11 whole years since the boy band released some of the most iconic bops of the early 2000’s like “Burnin’ Up,” “Year 3000” and “Lovebug,” so it’s safe to say a reunion is most definitely in high demand.
