InternatioNole Fusion: A Cross Culture Variety Show

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Interested in global cultures? Love talent shows? Well, then mark your calendars and great ready for this one, Collegiettes! This coming Thursday, February 20th, clubs and organizations on FSU’s campus are going to be putting on a show you won’t want to miss. For the second year in a row, InternatioNole Fusion is a variety show that boasts a program highlighting a huge range of cultures from all over the world—and you can see them all in one fantastic spectacle! Wanting to learn a little more about this event, I spoke with Director of PR, Megan Federico and this is what she had to say:

“InternatioNole Fusion is an event we created and put on the first time last year. The motivation behind it was really pitting together a cultural show by students for students. Our campus has such a wide range of students from across the world with amazing talents and we put together Fusion as a forum for them and to be able to share their talents with the school. We only have two of the same groups from last year and we really want to give students a taste of everything there is on campus and never have the same show twice.”

So, whether you went to the InternatioNole Fusion show last year or not, there’s a whole new round of incredible acts representing places from all over the globe that you need to come out and see!

Campus organization InternatioNole was created with the purpose of integrating and providing a support network for international students at Florida State University. As stated on their organization profile page, InternatioNole “provides an opportunity for communication among these students and with the student body at large.” Through events, fundraising, and outreach activities with FSU students and the Tallahassee community (such as the InternatioNole Fusion show), their “ultimate goal is to break stereotypes while encouraging students to share their experiences and knowledge.” What a great message!

InternatioNole Fusion is an event that, while keeping you spellbound and entertained the whole way through, also introduces the audience to new cultural aspects that they might have never witnessed before, and may never get the chance to see ever again. It’s a beautiful collaboration between organizations all over FSU that you should definitely be looking forward to.

The AASU Lion Dancers

Usually consisting of around ten acts, this year’s line-up includes FSU Bellydancers, Diverse World Fashion, A’caphiliacs, Lebanese Musicians, Slam Poetry, Seminole Shakti (ISA), Asian American Student Union Lion Dancers, FSU Japanese Student Association, Corazón Dancers, and the InternatioNole Dancers! With a group like that, I think it’s safe to say that you know what you’ll be doing this Thursday night.

The doors for the show open at 8 PM, and the show itself starts at 8:30 PM, but make sure to get there early because last year they were filled to capacity! Don’t miss out, Collegiettes — you’ll regret it!

Time: Doors at 8 PM, show at 8:30 PM

Location: Club Downunder, FSU campus

Cost: Free for all (must be 18+)
