How to Celebrate Galentine’s Day With Your Girls

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It’s that time of year again ladies, Valentine’s Day. A day full of love, hearts, pink, chocolate and endless amounts of ice cream because you just remembered you were single and have no one to spend the night with. F that. Get ready for a girl’s night in and change a crappy Valentine’s Day date into an amazing Galentine’s Day party (or better yet slumber party) with your besties.

1. Valentine’s Day Cards

Remember those cute little cards we used to give out to our classmates on Valentine’s Day in like third grade? Let’s bring that back because we all love to be appreciated and look at all the cute little messages from our friends. Have everyone bring a shoebox (decorated or not) and cards. Exchange cards as people get there and don’t open the box until you leave for some cute surprises.

2. Face Masks

Spa days are necessary and what a better what to pamper yourself than with your girls. Give yourself a little extra love this Galentine’s Day with an array of face masks. Feel free to try out those lip masks and under-eye masks too. Oh, and if you are really feeling it, how about some DIY face masks. Here are some ideas

3. Cookie Decorating

This is a fun one because you get to eat your creation after. And don’t limit it to just cookies, you can do cupcakes too. Bake (or buy) some sugar cookies and whip up some white, pink, red and whatever other colors you want and get down to business. Make sure you each explain your masterpieces when you’re done.

4. Karaoke

Put some girl power anthems into your queue, print out or display the lyrics and take turns jamming out to your favorite tunes. Microphones are optional, but confidence is essential.

5. Clothing Swap

If you have a lot of clothes you need to get rid of, why not let your ladies have the first pick. Tell all your friends to bring over clothing, accessories and whatever else they were thinking about donating and trade. You never know what you’re going to find.

6. Movie Marathon

This may seem like an obvious one, but you can never go wrong with a movie marathon especially if you have a face mask on and are enjoying your freshly decorated cookies. You can find a list of perfect Galentine’s movies here.

7. Photoshoot

We all need some cute pics for the gram, so why not just dedicate a couple of hours of your night for a cute Galentine’s Day photoshoot. Gather some props, put on some cute pajamas, and strike a pose for a fun themed shoot celebrating your besties. If you need some inspiration, just look up a fun Pinterest board and do your thing.

8. Food

There is so much you can do with food. Since you can’t please everyone without spending an insane amount of money (thank you college), have everyone bring their own favorite or Galentine’s Day dish. Or you can have a make your own *insert food here* bar.
