I am the first to admit that every time Taylor Swift comes out with a new album, it becomes my go-to album for casual listening (that is until she releases another album). Even if we love the whole album, we certainly have songs that we listen to and love more than others. With this era of Taylor Swift, specifically with its numerous sad songs and elaborate narratives, someone’s top song can be very revealing. Of course, I am no psychological expert, and this is all in good fun, so enjoy!

“willow”

Up first is the leading single for the album and the only evermore song that we have received a music video for (as of right now). You are most definitely the mom-friend of your group, and you are the person that people always go to for advice. I would also venture to guess that you are either in a stable, happy romantic relationship or you are content being single. You also live for the cottage core aesthetic.

“champagne problems”

Up next is the song that has taken TikTok by storm, and in my opinion, is one of the saddest songs on the album. You are probably very used to doubting yourself and feeling like you are damaged goods. You dream of finding love someday, but you are afraid that it won’t last. You need to start telling others how you feel and asking for words of affirmation. You have also seen the movie adaptation or read Little Women at least once, and you probably relate to Jo March. Lastly, you most definitely scream the song’s bridge every time it plays, especially the lyric, “what a shame she’s f*cked in the head.”

“gold rush”

Regarding this song, I will just start off by saying that you are definitely a fan of Harry Styles. You are probably a big fan of English literature and have already watched Bridgerton several times. You love watching romantic dramas and romantic comedies. You probably read or wrote fanfiction in middle school. Lastly, your favorite or one of your favorite books that you read for English class in high school was probably The Great Gatsby

“tis the damn season”

I will just start off by saying that you need to delete your ex’s phone number, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and even LinkedIn. You need to shut that door and keep it that way. In general, you are probably afraid of trying new things in life because you are afraid of getting hurt or rejected. You are stuck in the past and loathe going home for the holidays.

“tolerate it”

You give off some serious Princess Diana vibes. Romantic or not, in the past, you have felt as though you loved someone more than they loved you. You have experienced rejection, and you have a bad habit of keeping your pain and feelings bottled up. When you love someone, you love them with your whole heart and soul. If you are also a Swiftie, you can definitely sing “All Too Well” word for word. Lastly, I can tell you need a hug, so I am sending you a virtual one.

“no body, no crime” feat. HAIM

You live off of caffeine and true crime. You have sung “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood at the top of your lungs at least once. You can hold one heck of a grudge against those who hurt your friends and family. One of your favorite phrases to say is “kill all men.” You have definitely said to yourself or others, “I could get away with murder” or, “I am smarter than those criminals, I wouldn’t get caught.” Lastly, and I say this lovingly, you should probably be on a watchlist of some kind.

“happiness”

Are you okay? No, seriously, in general, you are a glass-half-full kind of person and the kind of person who tries to forgive others and never holds a grudge. You treat those you care about with immense compassion, love and kindness. You love a good cry, and your parents may be divorced.

“dorothea”

You know that Conan Gray song that went viral on TikTok? Well, you are the Heather that he sings about with your big dreams and extensive skincare routine. Your closet is filled with thrift finds and vintage, so your outfit of the day posts are always top-notch. You probably dream of buying an old home and fixing it up because you want a house that has “character.”

“coney island” feat. The National

First and foremost, your heart has been completely destroyed and shattered at least once in your life, and your mental health is probably in the metaphorical toilet right now. You probably love the dark academia aesthetic and long to travel the world. Regarding Swift’s album folklore, your favorite song was most likely “exile.”

“ivy”

I know for a fact that there quite a few “ivy” fans in the world, so this one is very specific. Even if you don’t admit it to yourself, you are definitely a hopeless romantic. In grade school, you were the type of person who preferred English and history over science and math. You live for a good love triangle storyline, so you have probably seen Outlander and/or shows created by Shonda Rhimes.

“cowboy like me”

You love “cowboy like me,” and you love to shout it from the rooftops. You tell everyone who will listen that it is the most underrated song on the album. You find Bonnie and Clyde’s story at least a little bit romantic, and you are a big fan of enemies-to-lovers storylines. You probably would love or already do love the movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Lastly, you have an eclectic but pristine taste in music.

“long story short”

The queen of self-growth has officially arrived. You are usually the person who goes high when others go low. During quarantine, you most definitely tried to make whipped coffee or banana bread. You are very organized when it comes to what is most important to you, and you have a very organized planner. You probably don’t talk to many people from high school or your past.

“marjorie”

You definitely cry while listening to this song almost every time, but you still love it anyway. You love old movies, and you consider yourself an old soul or born in the wrong era. You most likely have a good relationship with your grandmother, mother or the other women in your family. You long for an old school kind of love and probably can’t wait to have children of your own. If you don’t already, you would love the song “Wildest Dreams.”

“closure”

You are almost done getting over a breakup, and you are always the friend who tells the other one that they deserve better. You use a lot of sarcasm, and your humor is most likely dark or an acquired taste.

“evermore” feat. Bon Iver

At least once in your life, you have hopped in your car and gone for a late-night drive for the sole purpose of crying. You have been through a lot of trauma, but ultimately you survived. You probably have a complicated relationship with at least one of your parents, and you have some lingering trust issues. However, despite all this, you are in a period of immense growth in your life right now.

“right where you left me”

Your favorite Taylor Swift era is probably her current one or Reputation. You probably struggle with moving on in life. Like the person whose favorite song is “no body, no crime,” you can hold a grudge like no other. You probably love Swift’s song “mad woman,” and you struggle with feeling like life is moving forward without you.

“it’s time to go”

You have most definitely had to choose to let someone or a dream go, but afterward, you found something 10 times better. You are continually rearranging your décor and furniture as well as purging clothes from your closet. When you are stressed, sad or angry, you express those feelings through cleaning.

And just like that, we have made it through the whole album! I honestly had so much fun creating and writing these, so I hope you enjoyed reading these as well! Lastly, remember that both Taylor Swift and we at Her Campus FSU love you, and we are all a little “witchy” inside, so just keep dancing!
