The return of powerhouse vocals and winged eyeliner has everyone eagerly anticipating Adele’s new album. Dropping in November of this year, this brand new music will end her three-year hiatus. The last time we heard her familiar sounds the world was humming along to “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep”. We almost were never going to hear from her ever again-as she said she wanted “to go out on a high” after winning six grammy awards for her album in early 2012. She took some time off and got married and had a son. She reportedly wrote an entire album about motherhood, to which she scrapped the entire project because she deemed it “too boring.” Some bouts with writer’s block prevented her from thinking she could ever complete her album, until she met with producer Greg Kurstin. With him at her side Adele felt as if the music “poured right out of her.” The album was back on track and more and more songs developed from 2013-2014.

On October 18th the world finally heard from Adele in what felt like forever. She casually teased part of her new song “Hello” on the UK television program The X Factor. She also immediately started reviving her social media platforms that created uproar for her 61 million fans.

On October 21st, she wrote a letter addressing her new album on her Facebook page. Adele explains how turning 25 was a slap bang in the middle of her twenties. 25 is going to be a makeup record. She is making up for lost time, making up for what she did and what she didn’t do. Her album has a release date of November 20th, 2015 and the next day she will be performing on Saturday Night Live.

Her first single “Hello” is already breaking records. Released on October 23rd with an adjacent somber and sepia-toned music video, this song is even starting to knock Taylor Swift out of some record holding titles. Adele’s music video is now the most watched music video in 24 hours, with 27.7 million views, beating Taylor’s previous record of 20.1 million views.

Adele is back. She is releasing a brand new album in less than a month and at record shattering pace, nonetheless. The world is saying “Hello” Adele and we are ready to hear what you have to say.
