Glen Dorsey Talks Transfering, Fraternity Life and More

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Name: Glen Dorsey

Year: Junior

Major: Social Sciences

Hometown: St. Petersburg, FL

Relationship Status: Single and ready to mingle

Her Campus (HC): What are your career goals post-graduation?

Glen Dorsey (GD): My career goals at this moment are going to Grad school and starting to work in my dream job.

HC: What’s the most challenging experience you’ve had at FSU?

GD: Transferring from St. Pete College to FSU was my most difficult challenge. At SPC it was a small, close-knit community where you knew everyone around you. Where as here at FSU, there are over 700 organizations and can be difficult getting involved. The classes are different to in how big some of them are.

HC: What organizations are you in?

GD: I am in Transfers Helping Transfers and also a member of the fraternity Chi Phi.

HC: How did you know that Chi Phi was the right fit for you?

GD: Everyone in Chi Phi is very genuine and very down-to-earth. I am comfortable with all my brothers and have developed a unity with them that will continue even after I graduate and go on with my life in the future.

HC: What is a random fact about you?

GD: I am a huge Georgia Bulldog Fan. Go Dawgs! Sic ‘em!

HC: What would a first date look like with you?

GD: A nice dinner at University Center restaurant then going to Lake Ella to walk around and get to know each other and enjoy the scenery and ending with some dessert from Big Easy Snow Balls.

HC: What are you doing on a typical Friday night?

GD: Hanging out with my brothers, going out to eat or enjoying a night out on the town and really experiencing the whole solidarity of being a brother of Chi Phi.

HC: If you could be any brand of shoes, which would you be?

GD: I would be a pair of converse because they are classic.

My name is Chelsee McLean I am 22 years of old and attend FSU as a Criminology major with a minor in Creative Writing. I think puns are a sign of good wit but sadly I'm not a master. I'm an average singing, neon-wearing, Netflix junky who loves to go eat at local mom and pops places with friends. I'm always on the go and tend to be the friend who makes you late for class because I know almost everyone we pass. I'm involved with many events and work at the Subway on FSU Tallahassee campus, which causes me to meet a variety of interesting people. I hope my writing makes you feel something, whether anger, sadness, or laughter. I hope it leads to thought and not a yawn.
