“Chicago” is a musical set in the 1920s and draws from the real-life trials of Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner. This Broadway classic tells a story about the turmoil of love and show business through two women who have found themselves in situations they never expected. Roxie Hart, an aspiring vaudeville star and one of the newest members of the Cook County Jail, is put on trial after murdering her lover she was seeing behind her husband’s back. Velma Kelly, an acclaimed vaudevillian and another new member of the Cook County Jail, is also put on trial for the murders of her sister and unfaithful husband.

Both women are represented by the infamous lawyer, Billy Flynn who is known for his winning streak of cases for every female defendant in his career. Roxie and Velma quickly go from fellow inmates to arch nemeses as they fight for the attention of both the public and Billy in fear of being lost in the mix of female murderers also being represented by the high-profile lawyer. The fate of these women and their journey to being free is told through multiple songs and dance numbers that are not only guaranteed to captivate viewers, but also leave them humming these famous tunes even when the show is over. This timeless musical has kept audiences on edge for years wondering who will win over the hearts of the media and who will be dropped from the memory of the public forever.
