It’s time to take a deep breath because the semester has finally come to an end. One of the most important things to do at the end of the semester is finding some time to revive your spirits. After a relentless week of studying, exams and projects, you should try out one or all of these activities by yourself or with friends to help you unwind just in time for the holidays.

1. Look at Holiday Lights

One of the coolest light experiences in Tallahassee is at Dorothy B. Oven Park. You can take your friends, family or significant other and walk around the property. From the Ice Castle to Santa’s Stable, thousands of lights dazzle from all over. Plan ahead of time for a night with nice weather because there’s plenty of photo opportunities. They even have a table with a checkerboard built into it. The best part about this experience may be the fact that it is completely free. All you do is show up within park hours (7 a.m.-11 p.m.), park in a spot and get ready to be washed in Christmas wonder.

2. Eat Your Favorite Meal

Let’s be honest, our meals in the weeks leading up to finals are few and far in between. If you happen to take several trips to the Strozier Starbucks or down your third can of Red Bull, then you are one of many other college students who are way more focused on passing finals than eating a well-balanced meal. My advice to you is to go out and get your favorite dish. It’s a treat yourself kind of occasion anyway and your body and brain will thank you.

3. Spend Time with Friends

The best way to relieve any stress is to surround yourself with the people you care about. Text your best friends and make some plans to catch up. Do nothing together or dress up and go out. No matter what you guys decide to do, laughs will be shared and the hand cramps from bubbling in answer keys will long be forgotten. No one can make a bad day completely better quite like your best friend can.

4. Binge Watch T.V Shows

For those of you who enjoy heaps of quality alone time after a stressful week, it’s time to settle into a cozy spot and binge watch some shows. Disney Plus is now available as a streaming service that offers plenty of nostalgic choices of movies and shows. Or if you’re not in the mood to revisit your childhood, head over to Netflix and Hulu. There you can be bothered about whether you’re “Still Watching?” because let’s be real, yes, we are. Sometimes it’s totally necessary to just lay in your bed and do nothing. You worked hard. It’s time for a nap.

5. Stream Fine Line

To boost your spirits, head over to Spotify or Apple Music, or even borrow your neighbors’ headphones and listen to Harry Styles’ newest collection of songs, Fine Line. Nearly 50 minutes in duration, this melty album is a harmonious rock and roll lullaby. Let any school-related stresses escape your brain as Styles’ voice wanders through it.

Eventually, finals week will feel only like something of the past. Until next semester….
