Festival Fashion Trends to Look Out For This Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Summer is finally approaching right along with festival season. Some of the biggest concerts have already been taking place, like Coachella, Ultra and Tortuga. These events not only feature some of the best artists in the current music scene, but they’re also one massive fashion show. People take the opportunity to show off how creative they can get with their style and that’s part of what makes these things so fun. Creating a unique look that doesn’t leave you looking like a walking cliché can be difficult, but these style icons–celebrity or not–have set some trendy examples in a display of their originality. Here’s what’s big in the festival style of 2018!

Bright Colors and Prints

A festival staple for years, playing around with patterns, colors and accessories is always a good option for a lively look. It’s a classic you can mix up with different jewelry/face gems or just leave as a simple expression of color.

Combat, Simple and Edgy

This year, many festival-goers have stepped out of the flower crown/boho look and delved into a sexy Kim Possible style and a pair of combat boots. You choose how much skin you do or don’t want to show and you’ll look like a badass either way.

Neon and Metallic

Bright neon and shimmering metallic is an exciting look, especially for EDM festivals. Experiment with different hairstyles and materials. The all-black with a pop of neon is also a great way to spice up the look.

Hats

No matter what style you’re going for, hats make a great accessory and give an outfit a little extra something. The floppy hats, boater hats and Breton caps are all cute options for any outfit you put together.

Black on Black

The color goes with everything; it’s another classic that you can’t go wrong with. Many people have chosen this look this year because it’s simple, sexy and you can do so much with it to make it your own.
