Favorite Looks From The First Half of Paris Fashion Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Fashion week lasts months in the fashion world and Tuesday started the first day of a fashion week in one of fashion’s capitals, Paris. Brands from all over the world are flying in and out of Paris to see the new styles from brands like Balmain, Christian Dior and Fenty x Puma. Here are some highlights from last week’s start of Paris Fashion Week.

1. Balmain

Balmain will always be a fan fave and never seems to disappoint. For SS17 Balmain showed some sexy safari looks. “The Balmain Army has shed its armor,” says creative director Olivier Rousteing.

2. Dsquared2

Animal print, acid wash denim, flannels, huge jewels and velvety ribbon all mixed together in one. It was hard to pick my favorite look from this iconic collection, but this one stood out the most. This collection is for the daring, the defiant and the free spirited. Just like I always say, the best rule is to break the rules.

3. Emanuel Ungaro

With flamboyant mini skirts, bright colors, black leather and the iconic heart-shaped belts with giant crystal, Ungaro is definitely channeling some 80’s style. We are loving this amazing dress from the point of the ruffles all the way to the patterned booties. Rebellious is what Ungaro was going for with this collection and rebellion is what we saw.

4. Fenty x Puma

Coming off of Rihanna’s gothic looks from last season, RiRi completely turns the game around with these street styles with a very girly twist. There was a wide range of styles, with pale pinks, lace gym shorts, pale pink sheer anoraks, ruffles, pink baseball caps and killer heels. Rihanna absolutely nails this collection and slayed PFW.

5. Christian Dior

Maria Grazia Chiuri made her debut at fashion week as Dior’s first ever female creative director. If you can’t already tell, Chiuri stands for feminism and this photo has been seen all over the web. “The message, really, is that there is not one kind of woman,” says Chiuri. Dior had amazing looks in their SS17 collection but this one is epic, which is why it is by far our favorite from the collection.
