Sight
There is a poetic beauty to the sight of autumn. Suddenly you are seeing the world through red and orange lenses, as the dancing branches of the trees brimming with red and orange leaves rustle in the wind. You can feel the change in season, as they shed their leaves in preparation of new life in the spring. Foggy mornings turn to cool afternoons, and nights bring moments for self-care and comfort. Flickering candles cast shadows on our walls, providing minimal light as we settle in to watch 31 Nights of Halloween on Freeform. These are the moments we see, which bring a sense of warmth and comfort.

When we think of autumn, there are scents associated with it that are so relieving and peaceful; it’s as if we can smell them just by thinking about them. The smell of the crisp air on that first autumn morning, the pumpkin spice and apple cider candles that fill our homes, and the burning of firewood on a chilly evening. There is something so incredibly satisfying and remedying about walking into a coffee shop and taking in the aroma of fresh baked goods. Pastries, warm bread and cookies have a way of drawing us in and warming our insides. The snug pleasure it brings us is unparalleled.

Admit it, you’ve waited all year to break out your favorite sweaters, scarves and wool socks. Now that the weather calls for this attire, you can happily slip into them and embrace those cozy vibes. It’s a staple rule that all things fluffy and soft are welcome during the autumn season. Snuggling up in your blankets and pillows while sipping on a warm cup of coffee sounds like the perfect way to start the day. Once you’ve managed to get out of bed and get dressed in your favorite fall outfit, you’re able to walk outside and feel the cool, crisp breeze rush against you. It’s amazing how all of these things can evoke this calming contentment, to the point where the feeling itself is almost palpable.

Imagine waking up to the light pitter-patter sounds of the rain, the drops soothing you back to snooze. There’s a crunching of the leaves as you take a walk outside and horses are trotting as you enjoy a nice hayride. The flames of the bonfire are crackling in the nighttime. Screams fill your ears as you embark through the haunted house with your friends. Kids are running down the street, laughing as they trick-or-treat. These are the sounds of autumn, joyous and remedying in all their glory.
