Her Campus (HC):  Why did you choose to go to Florida State?

Dani Westerlind (DW): Well, in-state tuition was kind of a big thing. But other than that, I felt very comfortable when I toured here. I felt like I belonged and that was an amazing feeling to have from a college campus. I didn’t feel that when I toured other schools, so I knew FSU was the right place for me.

HC: What’s your favorite place on campus?

DW: The new fountain that’s by Smith and Kellum. I pass by it from time to time and I absolutely love the area over there. It’s gorgeous.

HC: Tell us about your summer. We heard you got to work at some pretty awesome places!

DW: Yes! I worked at the Lily Pulitzer store for a bit, which was very cool. Everyone who worked there was really nice and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Also, I got to see all of the new Lily clothes before anyone else. That was an amazing perk because I LOVE their clothes. I also got to work as a receptionist at a marina in Rhode Island. As well as being a receptionist, I sold clothes and accessories to customers. I got to work right next to the ocean, which is my favorite thing in the entire world. It was absolutely beautiful, and I’d love to move there someday.

HC: So if that’s you dream destination, what’s your dream job?

DW: I love accounting and finance, but to be honest, I would just love to explore the ocean. One day a while back, I was exploring Instagram and saw this guy who had incredible pictures of the ocean and wildlife in the ocean. He works with the Discovery Channel and gets paid to travel and take pictures of the different oceans and animals around the world. How incredible does that sound?! I would 100 percent do that. Realistically, my goal is to make some good money and then be able to spend it on my retirement by exploring the ocean.

HC: What’s a strange fact that not many people know about you?

DW: My ankle is actually broken. I don’t have a cast or anything, but it is most definitely broken. The weird thing is I literally have no idea how I broke it. I went to the doctor because a different place in my ankle was hurting, then the doctor took an X-ray and was like, “Your ankle is broken!” So yes, my ankle is currently broken.

HC: If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be?

DW: Chocolate, simply because I like chocolate.

HC: Who is your celebrity crush?

DW: Definitely Logan Lerman or Dylan O’Brien. They are so cute.

HC: We know you love Netflix, so what’s your favorite movie?

DW: Any movie with Adam Sandler is hilarious. Maybe Billy Madison, that is such a good movie and I recommend it to everyone.

HC: What’s one thing you can’t leave the house with besides your phone?

DW: ChapStick for sure. I always have ChapStick. Actually, I think I’m addicted to it…
