After a major success in its first season, Adults has now released its second season, full of more chaos, love, laughter, guest appearances, and… K-pop? On Aug. 27, 2026, FX’s Adults released all eight new episodes on Hulu, with two episodes releasing weekly on the FXX cable channel. Be warned, there are spoilers ahead!
When I first came across Adults during Season 1, I absolutely fell in love with the show. Ever since I was little, I’ve adored shows like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and Derry Girls, and just like with all sitcoms, I fell head over heels!. Dare I say this season is better than the last?
Season 2 Recap
Across all eight episodes, we saw changes in relationships, including plot twists, a new friend group, a challenge to find the perfect job, and, surprisingly, an introduction to K-pop for Carly.
One thing I enjoyed about this season was the introduction of Paul Baker’s second group of friends. They’re a cast of characters who create chaos wherever they go, but oddly have some amazing jobs, like working for Facebook.
We get to see an alternative side of Paul Baker; no longer do we see this calm, perfect guy, but instead a switch into a different person who oddly reminds me of a college-aged guy, or a frat boy. Honestly, I loved this group and was laughing the whole time.
The main thing this season touched on was love. We got a sad, but expected, breakup between Issa and Paul Baker that broke my heart a bit. Although I saw it coming, we also got to see the long-awaited relationship between Anton and Paul Baker, which was bound to happen after how Season 1 ended.
I loved seeing how close Anton and Issa’s friendship was, and that even though she’d just gone through a breakup, she knew how much Anton cared about Paul Baker and was there to support them. All of the characters have such strong relationships and can really get through anything. In the end, she found something exciting with the librarian, which I loved for her.
We also got to see a continuation of Carly and Samir’s relationship. Samir stepped up as the caring boyfriend, supporting Carly’s singing career and her decision to move to Seattle for school, which ultimately led to another breakup of the season.
However, in a shocking plot twist, Samir and Billie get together at the end. Throughout the season, Billie is in many club settings, trying to find that perfect person and look cool while doing it, so that ending was definitely a shock. If there’s a Season 3, I’d love to see how that relationship continues.
Adults On Real Life Scenarios
We also got to see how the characters handled jobs. For example, Billie had to take many avenues, from trying jury duty to figuring out whether people were interested in her for the job or as a date, and even trying everything to get her controversial past deleted so she could be able to get a job. Adults has a way of showing how hard it is as a new adult to find a job and, more than that, find something you actually enjoy doing.
We also got to see a side of Anton actually liking his job, and then potentially ruining it by saying something unexpected; however, we then got to see him and Issa work together and get him his job back, which he was actually never going to lose.
I related so much because when you find a job you enjoy, it can be so relieving to have a place where the only thing you have to think about is that job and break away from the world for a while, so I myself would do anything to keep it.
Lastly, as a K-pop girl myself, I really enjoyed Carly’s episode where she decided to release “Hiccups (Body Go Crazy),” and I enjoyed seeing this fun side of her. I feel like we all have that one big dream that we want to attempt (for me, it’s Broadway).
Getting to see this become a whole production at the end, with costumes, a music video, and performance, was to die for. I also especially loved seeing Paul Baker vibing to it at the end of his shift; I think that was the perfect touch. Also, can we give a round of applause to Issa’s rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream?”
Season 2 was a perfect continuation of the first; the returning cast continued to be a group of people you can’t help but love, along with the lovely return of Julia Fox and Julian Manjerico as Zach-Carlos, plus an amazing list of guest stars including Gaten Matarazzo and Raven-Symoné. I binge-watched this show the day it came out and laughed through every episode, losing sleep over how much I didn’t want the season to end.
