If I had to list my favorite things from my childhood, Taylor Swift and Webkinz would probably be at the top. I had a Persian Cat Webkinz named Taylor, after my idol of course, so those are all the credentials I need for this. With nearly two decades worth of music, Taylor Swift has gone through multiple genres, styles, and vibes, which allows her albums and eras to line up with different Webkinz animals to create the ultimate nostalgia combination.

Debut/Fearless: Golden Pegasus

The Golden Pegasus Webkinz pairs perfectly with the Debut and Fearless albums. This was Taylor Swift’s most country-themed era. She had big blonde curls that go hand-in-hand with the Pegasus’ golden hair. With songs like “Today Was a Fairytale” and “White Horse” on Fearless, the Golden Pegasus is this era’s spirit animal. The clear pipeline between horses and country vibes allows the Golden Pegasus to be the magic touch that lines up with this time in Taylor’s life.

Speak Now/Red: Koala

The Speak Now and Red albums represent a time when Taylor Swift was going through both teenage and young adult heartbreaks. Despite the hard times, these eras include some songs about being young and happy (cue “22” in your head right here). All of this makes the Koala the perfect Webkinz animal for this era. Koalas are cute, cuddly, and seemingly innocent, but they can be mean if provoked. This is essentially Taylor’s exact vibe; she was used and broken, which caused her aggressive and powerful side to show. Koalas are often a fan favorite at any kind of zoo, which lines up with these two albums and eras being some of Taylor’s most popular works.

1989: golden retriever

This might be a hot take, but Taylor Swift’s 1989 album gives such Golden Retriever Webkinz energy. Despite some sad songs about heartbreak, Taylor seemed to have a positive attitude throughout this time. Even the emotional songs still have fast beats and good energy, showing that you can make it through anything and get out of the situation happier than when you entered it. The opening track on this album titled “Welcome to New York” suggests a happy, fresh start. These good vibes correlate with all of the love and sunshine that golden retrievers bring.

Reputation: Black Cat

You guessed it: Reputation is 100% the Black Cat Webkinz. Taylor’s Reputation era was a mix of coming out of hiding, proving herself to her enemies, and ending up in the strongest love she has ever had (this part kind of aged poorly, oops). This fits the Black Cat’s vibe flawlessly. Black cats are known for being bad luck, but you can “Call It What You Want” because the black cat knows its worth, just like Taylor during this era. The Black Cat Webkinz also perfectly fits the color scheme of this album, which just adds to the relevance. Finally, Taylor’s lucky number is 13, which is typically a symbol of bad luck. The black cat has a notorious “reputation” of its own but chooses to see the good.

Lover: Pink Poodle

Taylor Swift’s Lover era fits the Webkinz Pink Poodle aesthetic. Her album is mainly associated with pink, love (hence the title), and good vibes. The Pink Poodle has this same energy, as it’s all things cute and girly. Pink is such a love-infused color, so it’s hard to look at this Pink Poodle Webkinz and not immediately think of this era. For those going to the Eras Tour, pink outfits are all the rave, so this Webkinz could be used as subtle inspiration on what to wear.

Folklore/Evermore: Husky

The Folklore and Evermore eras are often associated with the transition to the colder months of the year, especially since they were released in late July and early December, respectively. The Webkinz Husky naturally fits this vibe. Huskies often blur the line between being dogs and wolves, which lowkey mimics the way Folklore and Evermore were unique and blended multiple genres of Taylor’s music. The Webkinz Husky was less popular than other animals, but still widely known and appreciated. This is almost exactly the way these eras are, as even those who don’t go crazy for the albums can still recognize the pure talent in their songwriting.

Midnights: Turtle

Midnights nearly won the Black Cat title (the Black Cat gives major “Midnight Rain” vibes), but instead, this era is the classic Webkinz Turtle. This might not be the first association you make when you think of Midnights, but turtles fit the altering vibe throughout this entire album. Midnights includes themes of breaking up, falling and staying in love, getting revenge, pride, and self-hatred. This is a lot of range in one album, but the Webkinz Turtle is up for that challenge. Turtles come with a shell, which can be used as their safe haven. Turtles have full autonomy over whether or not they want themselves to be on display for all of the world to see. Turtles may be notoriously slow, but the “Slow and steady wins the race” mantra may prove that the Webkinz turtle is truly a “Mastermind” of its own.

Relive your childhood by finding where your go-to Webkinz aligns with Ms. Swift’s masterpiece of a discography. As our queen herself says, “Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you.”
