**This article contains spoilers for Bridgerton**

The countdown has begun for Bridgerton Season 4, and I had to pull out An Offer From a Gentleman from my bookshelf. As a devoted reader and Bridgerton fan, these books quite literally have me giggling and kicking my feet. If you like the show, I beg you to read the books. If you know me, you’ve heard me obsessing about one specific volume.

Book number three, brother number two, Mr. Benedict Bridgerton, has my very favorite book in the series. I was honestly disappointed that we skipped him for Colin and Penelope (although I absolutely adore their story).

Re-reading this book made me even more excited for the release of Season 4, and I couldn’t help but obsess over some scenes that need to be included in the adaptation.

Whether you’re a Bridgerton fan and want to know more about what might happen in the next season, or you’ve read the books and have your own moments that can’t be missed, let’s dive in!

Sophie and Benedict at My Cottage

Their entire interaction at My Cottage is so perfect, but I’m especially looking forward to the lake and spoon scenes. As they grow more comfortable with each other and their banter picks up, Sophie throws a spoon at Benedict, insisting that her hand was attached to her arm, but that it somehow wasn’t really her, which had me crying with laughter. It’s so out of character for her, but I loved every second of it.

Their first official kiss (because he kissed her as the Silver Lady, and she kissed him in his sleep before) is absolutely to die for. Sophie’s quirkiness and her claim of “academic curiosity” had me giggling. I also need to see Benedict telling her he has to kiss her “because, like breathing, one doesn’t really have a choice.” I blush just thinking about it.

Benedict Asks Sophie to be his Mistress

Controversial, yes, but he’s just so poetic with it. “Be mine forever. I’ll give you anything you want. All I want in return is you.” gives me chills. I don’t understand how she didn’t fold with this one. We were all thinking Colin and Penelope were the ones with the word gift, but this book is literal poetry. How did he even come up with that?

Colin and Benedict

Although the show has Colin’s season come first, in the books, he marries much later than Benedict. He has two interactions with him during the book that complete a full-circle moment, and I’m hoping to see both.

From the masquerade ball, where he catches Sophie as the Silver Lady and Benedict dancing on a private terrace, to the end of the book, where Colin calls him out, saying everyone knows about him and Sophie, and they should be together regardless of what people might think.

I’m curious to see how they’ll portray Colin this season because his whole dynamic in the third book is traveling and playing around, but he was someone important in their story, encouraging and making Benedict realize that he loves Sophie. The show definitely portrays the sibling duos differently, but I’m hoping they don’t take this from us.

The commotion when Sophie gets arrested

I need to see Violet defending Sophie and being so sassy to Countess Penwood. We all hate that woman, and I was laughing out loud at her wit in the book. I’m also so excited to see Posy defending Sophie and moving in with the Bridgerton family. Although I’m looking forward to watching these scenes, my favorite part of this book will always be the aftermath of Sophie’s incarceration.

“You are the reason I exist, the very reason I was born.” I need to see this on the screen. I fear that if they leave this line out, I’ll riot. All of the Bridgerton books are so well written, and these characters have the greatest, most romantic declarations, but this one takes the cake. Benedict and Sophie aren’t the writing couple, but they should be! I’d trust these two with my wedding vows.

Feb. 26 can’t get here fast enough. The first part drops on Jan. 29, but I already know those 28 days in between will be painful for an anxious, overly excited girl like me. Until then, I’ll be rewatching edits made from the few teaser scenes we’ve been given!
